For random reasons I was looking up the history of UB40 and Graduate Records the other day.

There was also JB's which hosted early performances by the likes of U2 and Dire Straits, amongst others.

Frank Sidebottom maintained that his set at JB's -- a poorly-attended gig at which the audience collectively decided to play football instead of watch the band—was the best gig he ever did.
