What's black and smells?

Marmite.

Apparently not happy with Marmite Peanut Butter and Marmite Lynx spray, we now get Marmite beer

What is the obsession with putting Marmite in stuff?

Captain Z

I have a feeling people will either love or hate this idea.

I don't like beer but to me that makes more sense than putting it in peanut butter or bodyspray. Someone once got me to try Guinness by telling me it tasted like Marmite, the lying twat, but I've always thought it sort of should.

gilbertharding

I like Marmite, and I like beer... but I've had a few ales in the past which tasted (or maybe smelled) a bit too much like yeast, and really thought they shouldn't.

Wait: Marmite bodyspray? The great smell of yeast?

Fuck off.

Imagine selling that when you can get a yeast infection for free. Someone tell Martin Lewis.

Marmite Lynx spray

I thought you were joking and googled and found a link for "Lynx Africa Marmite Bodyspray 150Ml".

Fucking Hell.

I bought this as a present for my son... I didn't see inside the box until after my son unwrapped the item but the hell was all over the inside of the box... Im totally disappointed by this.....

I'm hoping that they put it on Jeremy Corbyn.  I'd enjoy that.

I like peanut butter, but hate Marmite. Never the twain shall meet.

who cares

I got a yen for marmite when I went vegetarian. I used it as a condiment on the side of my mashed potato and baked beans 'cos I hated the taste so much. Sort of smuggled it into my stomach with the disguise of a beany sauce. Eventually I got to like it; in fact I loved it, the mash and beans wasn't the same without.

Now I eat yeast extract, store's own brand; any store, don't care. One teaspoon a day, like a medicine. Is it good for me? No idea. It's a by-product isn't it, so probably not.

They've got a good marketing department, marmite, I'll give them that.

I tried the Tesco own brand one once but I found it vile, tasted like tar smells, ended up throwing most of it away. It was a few years ago now so maybe they've improved it.

Not wishing spoil things, but isn't Marmite brown?

Edit: Just checked with the ultimate source of truth, Wikipedia

QuoteMarmite is a sticky, dark brown paste with a distinctive, salty, powerful flavour and matching heady aroma.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

My darling partners mother bought me Lynx Africa Marmite shower gel and deodorant combination pack as a funny joke at Christmas.

The spray is vile but the shower gel is passable, if intermittently disturbing.

As I abhor waste I have been applying the thick brown goo to my wet bristling torso and working it into a lather in the muscular ripples and erogenous crevices before washing it off with hot water as part of a basic hygiene regime. When the contents are depleted I will recycle the container and focus all energies on sending her a fossilised dog turd in the post.

If you pat it long and hard enough, it turns white.

Some of their campaigns I really love, but others I just really detest.

Buelligan

He that smelt it.

It's always the fucking dog.

Marmite is owned by Unilever who are also huge in ice creams, only a matter of time before you see Marmite cornettos in Iceland

pancreas

In the rather lurid book Red Tory: My Corbyn Chemsex Hell, marmite turns out to be a crucial ingredient in the fomenting of socialism.

Wasn't there briefly a Marmite-flavoured Guinness a few years ago?

EDIT: No, other way round!  Guinness-flavoured Marmite:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinness_Yeast_Extract#Similar_products

QuoteIn February 2007 Marmite produced a limited edition Guinness Marmite of 300,000 250g jars of their yeast extract with 30% Guinness yeast.

Stupid modern cunts like drinking salt. Salty coffee for breakfast, head to the pub after work for a delicious salty pint or two. The absolute state of it.

The Mollusk

The Marmite peanut butter combo they sell now has way too much oil separation in the jar, I tried stirring it when I bought it but the oil went fucking everywhere. I am addicted to the taste though so just make my own with a layer of Marmite and then a huge glob of Meridian peanut butter spread on top. Best toast spread ever I reckon.

Oh God yes. I used to do that back in the 90s. Incredible stuff. Had forgotten about Meridian. Must revisit.

Isn't Guinness already a kind of Marmite beer?  Maybe the official one will have more salt in.
