Basically anything possible to cover the taste of the chips and bread, then.

I've never put salt and vinegar on food. A touch of salt when cooking, maybe, and vinegar to make pickles. But as condiments they're fucking awful.

Food is just an excuse for condiments. Condiments are excellent.

Sriracha and crispy fried onions. There, I've said it.

Have you seen the bags of fried onions you can get for cooking Indian food? I got some for a biryani as it wasn't worth doing such a small amount each time myself, but they're pretty moreish, sometimes just grab a handful or put them in sandwiches.

please tell me you've never eaten chips then
I like the taste of chips. Salt and vinegar distracts from that. And the vinegar makes them soggy.

Nothing makes me feel quite as sad as a nude chip but I respect your position.

The best chips can take an almost unlimited vinegaring while retaining their shape, and these are the chips I like.

(edit for too many chips, if you can countenance such a thing)

Good lord.

That's more polite than what my friends said. Try it though, you'll like it!

It sounds like something Mark Renton would eat at Christmas.

Call me a prude but I'll give it a miss for now.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Chips, english chippy chips are usually fairly moist anyway. They are fried, then wrapped steaming hot into paper. The atmosphere in the place is usually.. Well.. Humid.

Their moistness adds to the contrast between the crisp outer. Salt adds texture and seems to soak up some of the moisture and vinegar is just beautiful stuff. You don't need to douse the whole thing in it, though sure some do.

Just don't add vinegar to a bag of crisps. That's legitimately bad.
