There's a lot of it about.  I barely knew anyone with it and now every cunt's got it.

Is the common factor a job or being adjacent to someone with a job involving kids/feckless teens/feckless young adults? I see from the age heatmap thing that the youth are getting it HARD again.

Oh yikes, hope you're okay 😩 let us know how it goes.

Could be something to that. I know that my cousin's too wee girls got it, and then he caught it off them and ended up with Covid pneumonia. I'm basically still just a hermit, wanna start going out walks at night though.

Hope you feel better soon pancreas

Janie Jones

Me too. (I mean me too, I have the covid. Not me too, wishing Pancs better. I'm delighted he has covid.)

My isolation ends midnight tomorrow. I'm double jabbed and no underlying conditions so had almost no symptoms. Sort of a head cold that I would have ignored outside a pandemic. Tested negative on lateral flows long after a positive PCR. Absolutely the worst thing and my only symptom really is the total loss of taste and smell, it's killing me. Everyone says it'll come back but it doesn't always and I'm getting very anxious about that. I've lost half a stone though, so every cloud.

Make sure you take plenty of horse dewormer and drink a mug of dog piss every night for good measure.

My neighbour had it - mild cold symptoms but she also lost her sense of taste and smell. She's got it back now but it did take a few days longer than the isolation period.

Feckless young adults, aye. I got it from my husband who got it from my daughter who got it in a dance tent at FieldDay.

Thank you, I'm devouring signs of hope like this as I'm really getting a bit worried. I've got NOWT. Smoke alarm went off as the toast burnt this morning. Couldn't smell a thing.

Should we have a whip round to get you some Lucozade or something?

Get well soon.

My wife's experience was similar to yours Janie, except she was in bed with flu like symptoms for a couple of days at the start. Taste and smell came back about two weeks after the isolation ended. Again we were worried it might never return, but it did. Hang in there.

sad to reveal that unfortunately pancreas has died. in the seconds before he passed away he did a big poo in his pants and went "oh! oh no! oh, i've done a poo in my pants! i've done a big smelly poo in my clean pants!!" then he fell through the trapdoor to his child porn cellar and landed with his arm extended and index finger pointing at said pornography as if to say "yes, this indeed belongs to me, pancreas"

Hope he reported those symptoms to the NHS App first.

Thank you! I'll really try not to worry, I'm only Day 9. I don't want to pretend I'm special, like my sense of smell is so important because I'm a discerning Bon Vivant, and obviously I'm not dying on a ventilator so I'm grateful, but I can't help being anxious at this massive sensory deprivation. I appreciate the reassurance

It was "in my clean pants" that got me. It's the little details.
