I was driving and Madonna's Like a Prayer came on the radio today, emboldened by the soaring gospel choir in the second half. Lovely stuff.

Coil - A Cold Cell

Not so much a choir as a synth that sounds a bit like one, but fucking hell....

"Never Forget" by Take That.

Went full Cliff Richard by having a sole choir boy sing a bit on his own.

Faith No More - Just A Man

I probably wouldn't argue it's the best but it still gets me so hyped.

How many people make a choir?

What if it's sampled?

One of my favourite ever songs, just stunning.

Another is this, which again sounds like a choir but probably isn't. (not a song though)

The tape-based Choir Organ that lived at Bavaria Studios, which features on Popol Vuh's soundtrack to Aguirre. Similar to a Mellotron, it had 88 tape loops of a choir singing each note of the scale.

On a aimilar theme, 10cc - I'm Not In Love. The band recorded themselves singing individual notes onto 12-foot tape loops. These were then bounced onto 13 tracks of the 16 track tape machine at Strawberry Studios so they could be 'played' with the faders of the mixing desk.
