Did anyone watch this?

I felt obliged, because they filmed bits of it very close to where I live, but it was shit.

As a boy I always thought the park was the place to find intriguing pornography but no, it was in fact in the oven.  Goddamit.  Presumably there were legs of lamb and rice puddings flapping in the bushes.

Jittlebags

Did they have apple grumble for afters?

When you're putting porn in the oven you have to make sure it's on the top shelf.

Too much porn left my old hard drive fried so I'll be sure to use this new storage method.

I watched it because it's Simon Nye and I wondered if he might bring hints of How Do You Want Me? to it. He didn't really but I'll admit to quite enjoying it, even though introducing all the significant characters in the first episode made it seem rushed. Still, I love Amelia Bulmore, and Tony Gardner is always good.

I also feel like I have to defend it because the usual Farage fans and 'Just sayin' wankers have been flooding forums and BTL comments with complaints about the inclusion of Black and Asian characters.

Perhaps I was being harsh - but to be honest I never saw the appeal of the David Jason iteration either. I wonder if the books are worth a read...

I too feel like defending it on that basis. I want to know - where in the HE Bates books does it say that Charley is white? I highly doubt it does.

And will his colour, in the current TV series, ever be mentioned? Will it prove to be a significant character trait, or will a plot point hinge on his ethnicity? I mean - we'll see.

Perhaps a black tax inspector, or an Asian school teacher might have been remarkable exceptions in post-war Kent... but this isn't a documentary is it?

But I've a feeling there's no point arguing with these people.

I like chicken, but I couldn't eat a whole one.
