Take your favourite piece of classic art and tweak.  Here's my attempt at the Haywain.

The more subtle the better I suspect.

Cheers splatt, praise from the master, much appreciated.  All I needed were the tools and a bit of Zappa, that's been in my head for years, just been waiting for photoshop 7.0 really.

Pythov

A wonderful day for pooh sticks I thought, courtesy of Monet.

Btw, what a great thread, all the hard work has already been done by the masters, yes!

Wonderful!  I'm going to mail a copy of that to my mum.  I suspect she'll like it.

Don't ask me where this came from - I don't know.

Rubbish Monkey, can you stop doing such brilliant mongery, please?  I keep having to tell you how much I like them, and I'm scared you'll think I'm trying to get into your pants.  Thankyou for your attention in this matter.  You utter genius, you.

Oh, and by the way.  Pythov - I've just mailed the Monet to my mum, and checked on Google to see in what year Monet himself died.  1926, apparently.  The very year 'Winnie the Pooh' was written.  Therefore your choice of mong was clearly preordained, and both Claude Monet and AA Milne smile upon you from their adjoining fluffy clouds.

Absolutely superb, Rubbish Monkey.

Mooching around Verbwhores, where does the time go?

Sorry, quickies only lately.
