It's defamation, sure, but to be honest it all sounds a bit petty.  Complaining to the FP management that he could sue if he wanted to would certainly get the guy fired, surely that's more than enough? 

I think 'certainly' is massively optimistic, surely?

To be honest - if slightly contradictory - you have to put it in both the wider context of FP's generally fairly loathsome business practises over the years (which have been discussed at length on various threads here) and the narrower focus of FP's behaviour in local markets.
In terms of professionalism alone it's not really on.

Point taken, along with the dirt in the PM!  I wouldn't be sorry if FP went to the wall, I must say.  As long as there were indie comics shops willing to take over that didn't present an overly geeky persona that made most people avoid them like the plague.
