Doing the lowering the key to ridiculous levels thing looks in order. Some Roxy music will sound decidedly grim with this treatment. A level of denial is required. Same goes for many performers of this era I'm afraid. I love Genesis but that last tour didn't sound like their finest hour. Still, they'll all be gone soon. Have a lovely day.

Tour started. I know YouTube videos don't really do concert sound justice buuuut... he sounds like a hungover John Inman being dragged behind a truck along a dirt road.

There are other songs he sounds very marginally better on but he sure doesn't sound like Bryan Ferry any more. Nice screens though. These reunions are getting depressing.

Sounds even shitter on the rocking songs. Not sure it's physically possible to play it any slower than that.

Mm sounds like a Walkman with a flat battery. Perhaps they'll improve as they go. The mighty Paul Thompson sounding like a pub drummer these days. There's nothing wrong with aging, we all do but it's just impossible not to compare with what they were like. It's really for those there though and perhaps it sticks together ok when it's in front of you.
I can understand why Genesis aren't releasing any shows from their last tour but I can appreciate why you'd have gone once more. Phil at least sounded like Phil.

Looking at Madison Square Garden footage. They look like they've tightened up considerably. Sounding musically good. Ferry still the weak link obviously but sounding a tad more confident. I recall it was the same with Phil on the Genesis tour. Got better and more confident a few nights in. (He seemed to wane a bit on the tail end of the tour again. I think that tank is unfortunately empty.)

The key changes are off putting at first but there's something sinister sounding about songs like Love Is The Drug in a lower key which is kind of intriguing.

I think I'd still go if they come my way. This will be the last, apparently ticket sales in the US are really underwhelming.
