Can't we just have a network of hooks in the road to pull cars along, like they did with cable-drawn trams in the 19th century, or with cable cars? I demand a proper cost analysis. Also, fun for kids!

Or electrified grids above every road, like dodgems. Even more fun for kids.

Don't lie you'd all fucking love an all-dodgem road system. Just off to tesco for eggs, dodging cunts on the way home so you can get all 6 back in the fridge.

Instead of trains, we should have inter-city roller coasters.

I work for someone with a Tesla.  He fancied a heated steering wheel so just paid them to switch it on.  Apparently, all Teslas come with everything as standard, you just have to pay to get options unlocked.  This doesn't sit well with me.  It seems cuntish if I'm honest.

On happier thoughts, we have the Citroen Ami here.  You can drive it from 14, you don't need a licence, it's pretty slow (limited to 45kph I think) but really quite charming.

'The smartest person in any room anywhere': in defence of Elon Musk, by Douglas Coupland

Literally lasted 3 sentences then closed it, fucked if I'm reading that bollocks.

Not just a Tesla thing:

QuoteToyota is charging drivers for the convenience of using their key fobs to remotely start their cars. According to a report from The Drive, Toyota models 2018 or newer will need a subscription in order for the key fob to support remote start functionality.

What's the most bonkers passage from that article? This?

QuoteFor Model S vehicles, latch problems may lead a front trunk to open "without warning and obstruct the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash," Tesla said.

Imagine the the bonnet flying open while whizzing about at high speeds so you can't see anything. "Increasing the risk" of a crash is one way of putting it.

Or the fact that nobody seems to care:

QuoteTesla shares fell as much as 3% in the morning but rebounded and were last trading slightly higher around $1,088.76. The world's most valuable automaker is expected to report record quarterly vehicles deliveries as early as Saturday.

Again, nothing unique to Tesla:

https://www.parkers.co.uk/car-advice/2008/renault-clio-bonnets/
QuoteThe notice advises owners of second-generation Clios, manufactured between 1998 and 2005, and all Clio Campuses to get their bonnet mechanisms checked by authorised dealers, following numerous reports that the bonnet may open while the vehicle is moving.

Cars get recalls all the time, it only seems to be news when it's Tesla though. Almost as if journalists are lazy click baiting hacks.

Toyota seem to be the most recalled cars despite having a good reputation for reliability; Hyundai are similar. It's probably too early to compare Tesla with their more longstanding rivals. Can't they do a firmware update to fix the boot latch?

Both the bonnet catch and pinched camera lead tally with the bad interior finish teslas suffer from.

Given how quite a few regular posters on here are triggered by any mention of 'Elon', 'Musk' and 'Tesla' as if they were sleeper agent activation code words I think they might be on to something.

errors happen. being consistently a dumb fuck like you is quite different though
