I can't (I won't) believe they've never done a song called Tess of the Dormobiles before.

Very rote HMHB titles, those( and one completely filched). The last album was passable , the word " fuck" used at least once too often, and the music the usual HMHB fare, the bassline paying tribute to Steve Hanley, and the songs ripping offpaying homage to late 80s/ Early-Mid 90s Indie Sounds ( "The Announcement" referencing Sleeper's " Inbetweener", " Every Time I Hear A Bell Ring" being a slowed down version of Morrissey's " Last Of The Famous International Playboys"). Nigel Blackwell's about 60 now, this could well be the last broadside from the Biccies. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Also worth noting this will be their first ever release not on the Probe Plus label. Can't think of any other band who have been around this long to have only ever released material on one label.

I really loved the last one - Urge for Offal was the one that let me down, the songs were just not up to the same standard (it even had an instrumental - for the HMHB who prizes that above the lyrics(?))

A couple of the titles on the new one make me cringe a little bit - and I certainly wouldn't share this tracklist with anyone who I thought might get into HMHB but "thinks they sound like wacky student wankers"

Mind you, sometimes the least promising title is actually a brilliant song:
Bad Losers on Yahoo! Chess
With Goth On Our Side
Tommy Walsh's Eco House

If it does wrap up after this record I hope Nigel writes a book.

If the folding of Probe Plus didn't stop them, i'm guessing they're in this till death.

I'd like to apologise for saying that Nigel's 60, I think he's only 57 or so.
I'll probably purchase this album, as I have done with all the others, but it perturbed me slightly that I can already imagine how at least a good half of these songs will sound.
There was a track on " Urge For Offal" that really reminded me of Neil Innes, and that's how I thought the Biccies were going at the time, for that " Innes Book Of Records For The 21st Century" sound, but then they went back to some of their rockier sounding tunes on the last album.
The worst HMHB album is " CSI: Ambleside" of course, there's some really uninspired stuff on there. " Give 'Em Bubblewrap", indeed.

Looking forward to this.

Been on a revisit recently, think Trouble Over Bridgewater might be their best, followed by Cammell Laird.
