Songs that help with the crushing futile misery of depression

My top song on Spotify this year is Get Better by Frank Turner.

I've found it to be a fucking anthem of positivity and authenticity, a song that makes the depression wither and the grim fucking determination to thrive rise up in me.

I also love Dovahkiin by The Indelicates.

Piles the Beaver

always cheers me up when I'm down

Purple Mountains - All My Happiness is Gone
Vic Chesnutt - Flirted With You All My Life
American Music Club - Sick of Food

Oh wait, help? Haha. Good one

A bit cliched but The Delgados - American Trilogy turned up on headphones.

Also Love's 'You set the scene'. You wouldn't fuck with the level of conviction in Arthur Lee's voice.

Poobum

Love having a nice hand wafty dance to this to get my mind off things.

Nothing with lyrics (I can understand) if I'm feeling shit

These are wonderfully joyous

Fantastic Man - William Onyeabor. Even if the message is essentially 'tell me I'm great'

failing that:
Harry Belafonte's Jump in the Line
the Impressions - We're Rolling On (or It's All Right)
Madness - the Sun and the Rain

Here's one for ya, Tookish, but maybe don't take it's meaning too literally until your spine's healed a bit.
