Seabrooks Fish and Chips. Surprisingly passable, given their track record for underflavouring. Bit of a leftfield flavour choice for what is a conservative crisp company.  All this being said, they cannot soar to the heights of the Burton's classic. Although they are really biscuits/crackers and don't belong in this conversation if we are being gentlemen.

Took a punt on Sainsburys own "Maple Bacon" pretzels this evening. Probably a moment of madness. Again, not really crisps and my experience of Snyders regular (heavily) salted is relishing the salty debris/dust at the end of the packet like the equivalent of quacking up cocaine fragments from a seemingly virginal toilet seat. Anyway, will report back with my findings if I don't have a stroke (or a series of small strokes).

Quote from: Sherringford Hovis on January 21, 2019, 11:45:29 PMThere are three proper English flavours of crisp: Salt 'n' Shake, Salt and Vinegar, or Cheese and Onion. All other foreign muck will be banned after Brexit. Anyone that thinks Ready Salted is acceptable is a lazy remoaning lazy benefits lazy scrounger and will also be deported.

These days, Cheese and Onion sounds suspiciously French. Down to two, I reckon, just to be on the safe side.

Has anyone ever tried McCoys Cums? They taste a bit like mushrooms.

Seabrook's Lamb & Mint Crinkle Cut

Surprisingly mellow. Not really a good simulation of it's namesake, but the mild lamb flavour combines with a tangy but laid back mint to produce a really nice and relaxing crisp. If you're fed up with overly harsh beef and chicken flavours, you can ease into this at leisure.

Does ingesting such quantities of pride have any meaningful side effects?

Down to my last bag of Brannigans Roast Beef & Mustard, which despite having a BBE of 29/12/20 were in perfect condition. I'm going to preserve this last bag (and the multipack outer) in the hope that one day a future generation may be able to recreate them, as part of a crisp-based Jurassic Park of long-extinct flavours.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Let's organise a mass trespass of the factory and refuse to move until production of Brannigans crisp resumes on an industrial scale.

Then set up worker co-operatives to consolidate our gains and ensure the future health of the product.

Then we put those responsible for the discontinuing into labor camps.

Once in a generation all of us have a moment to decide that No, this time I will not stand on the sidelines.

Where can you get these? Never seen them in a supermarket nor the usual Bargainstretcher type places.

You've just reminded that those existed and it's made me feel sad that I probably won't ever taste them again.

Have we done international crisp packet colours yet?

Guess what colour the following flavours are in Australia:

What supermrkets have you tried? In my experience, Morrisons generally have a decent range of Seabrooks.

Ah, nearest Morrisons is 45 mins away on a good day. Will have to have a look next time I'm in the area.

That said, the website doesn't have them which doesn't bode well;

Picked up a big bag of these earlier. Not tried them yet but reckon they'll be nice.

I tired them the other day. Was quite intrigued but didn't really hit the spot for me.

I also got these which were decent:

Lamb crisps just seem wrong

It's the mint part that I find most disturbing, though that is because I'm 100% correct in the assertion that mint in savoury dishes is an abomination.

Many thanks to whoever recommended Pipers further up the the thread. I had the jalapeno & dill the other week. Superb.

You'd think so, but Seabrooks know what they're doing.

I like mint sauce, but it tastes less like mint and more like vinegar
