Has Jim Davidson created the worst sketch show ever?

Lewman

Long time Ustreme subscriber. However  this cuts the biscuit for me. (Starts at 00:30)

Is that the guy from the sun?

Clive Dogshit

Thanks for that. Ustreme sounds like a company that makes catheters for old men whose bladders are full of gravel.

note for lazy comedy slags : Welsh actually has MORE vowels than English = a, e, i, o, u, w, and y.

W is the 'Ooh' sound - clearly a vowel!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Y like the 'Uhh' sound of the o's you hear in onion - (or bunion  or Unclean) - clearly a vowel!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
U is totally different to the english U (which is much closer to the Welsh 'W') (North Walians make the sound by curling your toungue into a 'u' shape at the front of the mouth - South Walians prounounce it more like an 'ee' - the wrong accented idiots!)

wrec

Dig the on-brand ELP-referencing title.

What's the deal with Bushell these days? Seems he should be full-on stop the boats / what is a woman / Meghan-obsessed lunatic by now but I never see him mentioned anywhere.

It's made me have a depressing flashback to watching Bushell On The Box in my bedroom on ITV at dickhead o' clock, emotionally raw from the sudden onset of ferocious teenage insomnia into something like its third night.

Joe Oakes

It's quite sad really, watching a man deteriorated to the point that he has forgotten that the letter 'A' is a vowel. C'mon, Jim, it's the first one they teach you.

centristmelt

Why did Gary Bushell think that a beard would ever be a good idea when he's missing a massive spot of hair on his chin? Also, he's a right wing cunt.

I thought Y and W were consonants AND vowels?

I remember Bushell On The Box being mostly either him contriving sketch ideas for him to do a bedroom scene with a glamour model or him striding about a car park in a purple shirt going "OOOOH I CAN'T STAND THAT RUBY WAX." It's probably in line with all TV production values today but at the time I thought it was the most hypnotisingly cheap looking programme I'd ever seen and that it must have been broadcast by mistake.

Yes I think your right - looking into it, I'd say in general terms, if they're at the start of a word like Wedyn (after) or Ysgol (school) then you could class them as a consonant, while if they're in the middle, or at the end of a word, it's a vowel. That'd probably count for U too : Ugain Utgorn (twenty trumpets).

Welsh consonants are even more fun :

ch - (Loch Ness)
dd - (then)
ff - (fridge)
ng - (bung)
ll - (place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth and gently blow air out the sides)
ph - (phoney) - same as ff really, but it's used when using "treiglo" for female p words eg pen becomes phen)
rh - (tricky - place tongue as if to say an R, move it slightly forward, and then blow air strongly through it so it vibrates on the gum behind the front teeth - making a sound like a hedge trimmer)
th - (teeth)

- - - - - - - - - - - - -
(logically, dd and ll should really be written as 'dh' and 'lh' - like ch, th, rh etc - looking like they do, it's not surprising that they make people go the wrong way and hit the D and L double hard, when they should be going in the opposite direction)

Imagine all that loony lot huddled together causing chaos, including the dead Jethro. I'm sorry woke brigade but you can't stop us smiling.

I imagine Jim's audience mainly consists of bigots his age.  I'm not suprised, but still saddened, that some of the younger Tory comics have found an audience.

Wow - dramatically less funny than the real thing.

Looks like the late Robert Mugabe has also come back from the dead to stick it to The Wokes.

famethrowa

I guess I detected the vaguest flicker of comedy writing with the ass crack parade; ok we've got a couple of typical builder's cracks on show, but what's this, the third has some kind of sexy thong on! Oh what a fancy lad!! Lotsa laffs

Also, what's the thing with being a German WW2 soldier and saying "verrry interesting"? Is that from Laugh-in or Hogans Heroes or some prehistoric shit

Brian Freeze

Will my algorithms be terminally fucked because of listening to that Jim Davidson bilge?

Mrs F is going to kill me if she finds out.

I could say it was for research?

To see how fucking thick he still is.

Yeah, "Verrrrry interesting....but stupid" is from Laugh-in.

Twilkes

Don't know where it's referenced from but whenever I read "Garry Bushell" my mind automatically replaces it with "grinning bollock".

BritishHobo

I like the bit when he calls Tommy Robinson Tommy Robertson twice

Also, Rwanda has vowels in it Jim you thick cunt. 'A' is a vowel.

The funny music really helps to sell how funny it is

Was this recorded 20 years ago? There's no way Garry Bushell looks like that these days - he was going grey the last time I saw him, and that was (mercifully) ages ago.

George White

Well, Starr and Jethro definitely don't look like that.
