A lot of effort has gone into unnecessary and unwanted things. I'm totally baffled at so much in PIC/DSC. Just no need for it. The Okuda's are involved in these shows I'm sure, Nick Meyer too.

I refuse to believe that the Okuda's have just sat and nodded in agreement at the choices.

Apparently the TNG cast have been brought back as they didn't get a proper send-off in Nemesis and they are the series quite a lot.

Thanks Malcy.

I had no idea that the Okudas had been brought back in. Good grief! I'd heard about their "lifetime achievement award," which smacked of the Star Trek equivalent of green washing. It was like New Trek production were trying to appease the pissed-off fans by recognising our heroes with made-up honours; like the Mr Burns Award in the Field of Excellent but more effectively Father Ted standing near a Black guy and expecting to get Liberal kudos! Beyond the award, I had no idea they were back in the fold. And at the start of PIC2 as well! Bizarre. I can't believe they're actively involved. The way they used to apply their technical eye to continuity was genius and the opposite of what happened on screen in that terrible season. I mean, they literally wrote the Encyclopedia! I'm sure they're glad to be working and all the rest of it but there's no way their presence is any more than mascotry, right? It's just incomprehensible.

Ah dear. Looking forward to seeing the old gang in a way. But largely not. They should just do a TNG animated series and make it awesome.

The rest of S2 airs.
Fans: Oh.

Regardless of how true it is to the spirit of Star Trek, Picard is just really badly written. Characters behave in a way that the plot dictates they need to behave rather than the plot being driven by realistic decisions they make. Every character needs a dark back story they need to come to terms with for cheap emotional impact. The plots are dumb. It is just a bad show, Trek or not

The word soup from each character ensured I never forgot what show this was a trailer for so I didn't feel much of anything. That said, Worf looks about 100 years older than he should.

It's going to be shit of course and the leather uniforms seem a bit un-starfleet.

I was looking at rank pins, of course. Worf, like Riker, has four pins, so maybe a Captain Worf series might finally happen (hopefully not by this bunch of idiots). Don't recognise what Geordi has. Could be an admiral or some specialist technical corps.

Ah, I don't know why I'm bothering. This isn't Star Trek.

Malcy

Apparently Worf isn't a captain even though he has the 4 pips.

Alberon

Right, NOW Star Trek Picard has gone TOO far!

Argh! It got me excited even though I know it will be shit.

Chairman Yang

"Do not presume to know what I have and have not sacrificed for this!"

Still got that great ear for dialogue, then.

Malcy

More than one Enterprise appearing in this as well according to Patrick Stewart and it seems it will be the 1701-D in a museum and maybe the E.

Alberon

Half of the D went bang and the other half smacked into a planet. Maybe they rescued that bit.

But I do want to see the E again, even in this shitty show.

I saw somewhere that it was recovered and placed in a museum and that one of those glass info panels at the academy showed that info in S2.

You've got to feel bad for Michelle Hurd, who the fandom is necessarily going to shit on just because she's been placed in a cast consisting otherwise entirely of legacy characters. For the record I think she's a good actor and I think the Raffi/Seven romance could have been fun and a nice thing for Seven's character if literally every single aspect of the entire show was different.

Mr Trumpet

I'm annoyed they've dispensed with all the other original characters from this show, all of whom had potential for more interesting development. But if they had to keep only one i'm pleased it's Raffi.

see you can still get a good performance out of pat when you give him some decent material
