QuoteDo Wagamama block GC people?

FUCKING. LOG. OFF.

new page no context whoop whoop

dissolute ocelot

Wagamama seems a bit woke for GC types. Some of the servers even have colourful hair. Surely they should be in a traditional restaurant where fish is fish and chips are chips, not one where tofu is pretending to be meat.

PlanktonSideburns

They think they're better than spoons, maybe if they got their head round the fact they arent, their lives would be a bit simpler

QDRPHNC

Why would you have a go-to restaurant for when you're somewhere new? Why go somewhere new?

To meet in a carpark with your fifty transphobic friends in Dino costumes

With merch bought from someone who thinks abortion rights are worth sacrificing in the fight against the trans.

Mummy what are those 3 crazy ladies doing?

They're upset a noodle chain has put an inclusive message in the window darling, so they're making 'fuck off' gestures in the street.

Oh.

I hope Wagamama realise they just lost some of their most petulant and entitled customers

People like this, if they went out for food and someone hadnt wiped their arse on the steak, they would think something was wrong with it

I'm sure Wagamama will be crying all their way to the bank about a bunch of middle-aged women flipping them off. And that flag's been there for ages, they're only just complaining now?

Glasses Redcoat on the left seems to have gotten confused and flicked the V at any approaching pedestrians

That one on the right (heh) is doing racist cultural appropriation with those manky dreads.

The picture is from a few months ago, their ire was due to Wagamama having the progress flag up which GC's believe is homophobic.

idunnosomename

somehow there havent been a bunch of TRAs mooning the Tunnock's factory or anything similar. because they have lives to live I suppose

Cold Meat Platter

It's odd because when you do things like that it kind of looks like you're the intolerant homophobe, not sure if they've factored that in.

If Mumsnet is anything to go by, gendercritters think cultural appropriation isn't real.

There's a notorious Manchester LGB Alliance member who was talking about trying to get the Wagamama flag taken down because it needed planing permission. (I don't think anyone took him very seriously.)

Hey do you know I found a forum called Tattle Life which has a series of Rowling threads that center on the terf thing. The most recent one I saw was called something like JK Rowling 4: JK Rowling and the Chamber of TRAs (that isn't the actual title I can't remember the exact one, please don't make me go back there and look!) So I thought oh it's a thread like on the Cab forum and I look on there and lo and behold it's all terfs! It's a banana thread!

Then I realised, this tattle life forum is sharing a lot of the Mumsnet demographic. It's basically mumsnet 2.0, I mean I'd found some vaguely interesting threads about radio programmes that I was midly interested in but when I had a look at the rest of the forum I noped out. And on tattle life apart from being terftastic and worshipping JK like a god, has all these threads about various people whom they criticise and
analyse for lols. And it occured to me that if Mumsnet is Prosecco Stormfront then Tattle Life is Prosecco kiwi farms.

Seems to have a lot of people that used to be on the Digital Spy forums. The radio threads are full of those awful brexity pub bore types who have a single minded one man hate campaign (they're always men) whereby they constantly use their favoured 'hilarious' nickname for their hate-object (something like James O'Borean or something)and you just know they are hugging themselves with glee and in this way they dissect every thing the hate-object says on the radio, (it was the thread on Iain Lee that brought me in there's like one of these guys that has a hate-on for him and constantly calls him something like Iain Lie or something really lame like that)

(oh yes it is compulsory for the James O Brian thread to have the phrase 'champagne socialist' mentioned a minimum of 45 times on every page. All by the same person I think) errm.,,,

Anyway Tattle Life is one weird bloody forum.

Pardon my interruption of this thread, As you were!

Kankurette

'Champagne socialist' is used for anyone remotely middle-class who isn't a Tory. Apparently once you're middle-class, or you earn a certain amount, you have to move to the right.

Is it the one who got kicked out of Pride? And again, that flag has been there for months so it clearly can't be that much of a problem. These people need to get a hobby, one that doesn't involve mindlessly obsessing over trans people.

I know about Tattle through Mumsnet Trolls and IDGAF if it 'does good work exposing influencers', it's fucking creepy. And oddly, it does seem to target women a lot. When I had a look there were loads of threads about Mrs Hinch and the level of obsessive detail about her was scary.

Thanks! I'm a bit socially awkward sometimes, in prose form (now new social awkwardness in prose form!) bit like Alf being back in pog form something something.

Anyway I was a bit shocked by how TL forum skews so right wing. Yeah I know I'm a woke lefty in my woke lefty echo chamber (lol). But it just always shocks me bit just how grubbily right wing so many forums are. It's not scientific or anything but I guess that just goes to show the reason why the tories always seem to get in most of the times in my lifetime (the brief Blair interregnum excepted.)

Ahh I suppose I'm just naive. Anyway i did find it grimly darkly amusing how they seem to have the bizarro version of the series of threads on here over there. It took me aback somewhat.

(oh yes they really hate Jack Monroe on TL.  She's one oft their favourite 'prosecco lolcows' on there. Now I don't know that much about her, but she seems to do good work from what I've seen of her on Twitter. I know she gets attacked by RW types a lot. Can't help but think that TL's hatred for her is rooted in RW politics rather than anything else she may or may not have done. (there's a lot of stuff about how she has had an expensive extension built and how she spends her money on champagne and caviar and tacky luxuries or something-it's almost like they hate her for being 'common'. It's strange)

Usually with about 30-40% of the vote. Most people don't vote Tory.

Luornu

oh yeah, first past the post skews things somewhat. Of course when labour does get in they won't introduce PR because they think they will be giving up the advantage that got them elected that time (it's rather more complicated than that but that's the essence of it)

This is why I like this forum, it's one of the few non-crazypants RW forums there are. Sometimes I find myself reading this military forum (it's called arrrgh or something) and the posters on there are pretty much straight up fascists. Like the present Tory government is too left wing for them! There was a poster on there who had a post sig (who remembers them!) saying about how the labour party are communist traitors and they should all be shot at dawn or something.

Real deranged detached from reality stuff. All you can say at the end of the day is-lol internet. (or I'd go mad I suppose)

Mumsnetters hate JM as well, they're always going on about what a liar and a grifter she is and how she was never poor. I know there are some people on here say the same but I wouldn't be surprised if her politics had a lot to do with it in Mumsnet's case, plus the fact she identified as non-binary for a while, and we all know how much Mumsnet loves NB people. Marcus Rashford gets a lot of hate from these types for similar reasons, though in his case I think there might be a bit of racism at play as well. I mean, Matt Le Tissier* is RIGHT THERE but no, let's attack the guy who had a go at the government for letting kids go hungry over lockdown. The absolute monster.

And tbh I avoid a lot of forums precisely because they're full of right-wingers. Especially football ones - on Owlstalk, I rarely talk about anything outside Sheffield Wednesday or football in general because Wednesday fans lean right. Grand Old Team is the only football forum I've been on that is left-leaning - there were Tories but they weren't liked. I don't think a lot of them are too pro-trans, but then Everton legend Neville Southall's stance on trans people may have won some of them over (and the Rainbow Toffees have trans members). This place is an exception. I wonder if one reason why I read so much is because the worlds in books - be they Narnia, Anne Tyler's Baltimore, Robert Jordan's world or Cat Valente's Ajanabh and Muireann - are a welcome distraction from the real one, even in dystopian fiction.

Mumsnet is incredibly classist, so not surprised Tattle is. They are OBSESSED with class, status and what is and isn't common. One raving loonbag on Mumsnet Trolls claimed MN was far left, which says a lot about her, frankly. They're probably all rimming Suella Braverman right now.

* I am very BEC about him. He was one of my favourite players as a kid but he is to COVID what Graybum is to trans people, and it's sad that his legacy as a Southampton player will always be tainted by his far right politics.

TL covers some people I'd never expect, I was surprised that Iain Lee was on there @Luornu
