Casino Palazzo - Browser Hijacking and Shortcut Making Bastards

Is anyone else out there having (or had) a problem with a 'Casino Palazzo' web site which plants a shorcut on your desktop which looks like this:

Once the shortcut has downloaded it's self a new window pops up to this place link removed, that's just silly Don't go blaming me if you end up with the same problem after clicking here, you've been warned

The only connection we've found is to Internet explorer but I'd bet there is a malignant little bastard of a program causing it ratther than something in the registry (though it may end up being just that I know).

We've tried 'Hijack This', 'Ad-Aware', 'Spyware Nuker' and deleting the shortcuts but to no avail the bugger keeps coming back. 'Panda' and 'CW Shredder' have not worked to remove it either.

Searches for 'ww14' come up with nothing but the shortcut and ones for 'casino' and 'palazzo' get the grand total of bugger all, we've also scouted through the registry but if the problem is there then it is named something totally different as none of those names give us anything there either.

Any ideas peeps?

Neil

There's too many of these techy threads, I think maybe they should start being posted in Website Whines or something.  Did you try searching this forum for your problem?  There seems to be a solution here: http://chilled.cream.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=90615&highlight=casino+palazzo#90615

Thats the theory, but there is nothing there that is any help in this case, I've been to virtually all of the links in the other thread and had no luck in getting shot of the damn thing I was wondering if anyone had a more recent infestation and had something that actually worked against it.

I won't post anymore techy threads in here.

No offence or anything, Big Jack!  The forum just seems to be awash with them at the minute.  The more techy threads people post, the more that get posted, and people who don't even post on here or have been here that often come here just to use the place to fix their puters.  We either need one sticky tech thread, or for people to post them in Website Whines or something instead.

Could you perhaps set up a forum called "I'm a computer fuckwit and want YOUR help because I can't be arsed to Google"?

Actually, maybe a [techy] forum with that as the description would be better?

No offence to anyone, like.

I think I've fixed this now so you may as well hoy this thread out.
