God damn that's fine music!

JimFromTheMoon

damn, sounds like there are some cool choons being posted in here. I'll have to wait until Thursday when I get some internet installed in my apt to listen. In the meantime I'll throw these out there...

https://soundcloud.com/jimfromthemoon/pennies - messing around with running the vocals through a delay and a phaser pedal

https://soundcloud.com/jimfromthemoon/tape-deck - first demo of a song we will probably release maybe definitely kinda who knows...

I knocked this up today, first take improv but fuck me am I quite happy with it. The guitar sounds like trumpets and I stole a Navarro guitar melody but fuck it I like what happened here.

Pretty nice. You sound like someone who gets compared to Pink Floyd a lot by people who haven't heard much music other than Pink Floyd and is annoyed because of it. But yeah, I get you on the Navarro, some lovely evocations of shoegazey stuff by way of Nothing's Shocking-era JA on that with the big washes of sound and that

Really like this one, sounds like a spaced out version of Bowie's 'Candidate'.

I'm pretty obsessed with Gilmour as it happens. And yeah I pretty much stole the On The Beach melody wholesale

hah you nailed it, man.  It's definitely a Sweet Thing/Candidate cousin.  Probably my favorite Bowie album.  Thanks for cheggin' it.

thanks Syntax, really digging your Brick Fields jam at the moment.  Kind of feels like "Lost Souls" era Doves, which is a great thing. keep 'em coming!

JimFromTheMoon

was unemployed for far too long recently and spent a lot of time rearranging pop songs for my sins, I guess.  from the abysmal ("wannabe", "she drives me crazy") to the classics. here are a few that came out cool, hopefully they can stand apart from the originals. enjoy and thanks!

You are one good vocalist man. You have a certain something I really like I can't put my finger on.

JimFromTheMoon

thanks, dude! I'm delighted to have someone thousands of miles away from me enjoying these tracks I'm making in my apt while jobless haha almost totally makes it worth it.  I'll let my gf know so she'll GET OFF MY BACK!!!...anyway, thanks man.

Dr Syntax Head

I am also jobless right now, have been for a few months. I'm like a over excited puppy when wife gets home from work and show her something new I'm working on (she gifted me a full on music room) only to be met with 'That's nice hun, what's for tea'. I POURED MY HEART AND SOUL INTO THAT BASS LINE!

I have been proper lazy though. Loads of work in progress and nothing finished. I'd be a useless professional musician.

JimFromTheMoon

I hear ya. thank the Lords of Kobol that I got a job.  same here, my gf would get home from work and I would play her something and sometimes get nothing hah, "are you hungry?". oh well, we do it for a higher cause, dag nabbit!

Dr Syntax Head

To be honest as someone who has never been out of a job since 16 I have been delighting in saying 'I'm an out of work musician' when people ask what I do. I'm usually wearing a grey cardigan at the time also adding to the image.

Tasty as fuck, Syntax man! Reminds me of And So I Watch You From Afar, with a juiced slip of sipping juice in a meadow. Banging postrock sound. Vibes ❤️

Chairman Bodog

I don't want to donkeystraggle the thread as a puritan feedbacker. I'm not so musically inclined, I do tinker round with dark ambient as scores but that's not much, but I have a sweaty array of voiceclips that my main man and I fuck with. He plays guitar and I talk over it like a Cohen dada cartoon. It's shit if not shit hot.

https://youtu.be/0Rxbxliq8dE

I'm the one that says And Brothergirl at the start. I don't want to chucklefuck my way through forum flesh flange spread but I do want to note that it's all improv nonsense we made together. It's fine to say it's awful and evil.

Fuck! Thank you man. I really appreciate that. Sipping juice in a meadow? How did you know? It's my favourite past time.
