TERF Crowd: The Terrifying Transphobia of Graham Linehan

Trans Day of Remembrance is bringing out all the GBOLs so you can see who is a trans ally. Unsurprisingly, Janelle Monae has been captured

Greyhound

His latest like on twitter is of someone @ing him asking if he's alright. But no reply to it, and still no tweets. Very odd. I feel like he must have been hit with a mute or something forcing him not to tweet because I'm not sure he has the restraint, especially on TDoR of all days, to willingly not tweet about healthy breast tissue. But maybe this really is a new side to glinner. And maybe I'll win the euromillions tonight, too.

Yeah, we've been here before with Rachel Cooke, she's a disgusting transphobe with full-on brainworms. https://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/index.php?msg=5196424

Broadband down and local mobile phone mast attacked by 5G crazies, ironically enough most of which he's friends with.

...did they miss the bit about Monáe being NB? Or the period when The Archandroid came out and she was very into having an androgynous look?

This is real 'being shocked that RATM are left-wing' energy.

He had a run in with KJK a while ago, otherwise he's been careful to avoid the subject on his show.

Video clip from a pretty unpleasant channel.

He may have been captured by a troupe of banana-loving monkeys, and is currently unable to escape and wary of losing his phone (they'd just snap it in two and sniff the inside, total waste, would you take that risk?).

We might need to devise some kind of secret cipher he can use to exfiltrate information about his predicament, probably using nothing but twitter likes.

It's a precarious situation, we need to tread carefully. Those little fuckers will rip your head off quicker than you can say "roof rack littering a safari park". One miscommunication could get very messy very quickly.

Glindr is also down and he hasn't just let his ownership of the domain name expire, it doesn't expire for another year. Of course Glindr could just be gone because he's inept with technology but I'm now also thinking this might be a legal issue.

If someone's in Twitter Jail doesn't their account get put into "Read-Only Mode" where they can't even like tweets? Looks like he might not actually be in Twitter Jail and may have had a legal threat that's forced him to develop a bit of willpower.

Greyhound

Maybe David Tennant finally had enough of being called a groomer paedophile

Milo

He practically ceases to exist when he can't use twitter. Sad prick.

He's a bit of a both sideser isn't he? Not transphobic, but not willing to call out transphobia either.

Terry Torpid

Has anyone checked up on his sock puppet account, whatever it was?

Unless there's a special new kind of mute/ban that allows you to carry on liking things, the only explanation is that he's taking a break.  No I can't believe it either.  I can't be bothered to look it up, but I feel the longest break he's had since being back on Twitter is probably 3-4 days?

Quote from: holbob on November 21, 2023, 10:14:37 AMBroadband down and local mobile phone mast attacked by 5G crazies, ironically enough most of which he's friends with.
He's got a drawer full of SIMs, admittedly some of them are a little old now that he's got Daddy Musk on Twitter and he's not really had much use for them.  Worst comes to the worst he can pop out to a Starbucks, hopefully that blue hair isn't behind the counter today.

So the real options remaining are legal threat, custody/divorce matters that require him to behave normally for once or someone convincing him have a little break.  Maybe James Esseessesees had a word?

How longs it been?  2 days?  He'll be back on and calling people groomers in 2 days I reckon.

George Oscar Bluth II

Has to be doing it on legal advice surely. It's the only reason he'd limit activity on Twitter without being forced.

If he could tweet, he would.
If he's facing legal action over his tweets, he'd tweet about it.

I suspect it's a short posting ban, which is why there haven't been retweets either. Likes are obviously not treated as posts, but they show that he's sat at his computer - probably emailing the Better Business Bureau again.
Knowing how furious this makes him is the icing on the cake.

Others will know better, but don't the temporary bans increase in length each time? He must have used up the 24 and 48 hour ones by now. A week next?

Mx Wrongs

glindr has been down for a few weeks already.

It would be interesting to know if there were any recent exploits discovered for pleroma or soapbox.

It seems to have been run by a guy called Matthew Greenfield.

There's still those weird obsessive "transvestigation" accounts that people insist is him. Nothing from his main, though. Nor many of his better friends even giving a shit it seems, except to tag him in group hate. Half the people even mentioning him are trans people / allies.

It's like an old bloke that randomly yells in peoples faces at the bus stop. Unpleasant, but you still don't want to find him lying dead one day on a park bench.

Pink Gregory

hope both he and subsequently these threads fall off the face of the earth

In no particular order,I wondered if :

Legal threat to stop harassing someone

Police visit

either of which have either forced him to stop tweeting because consequences, or spooked him (and his chums it seems) enough to stop.

Trying to appear normal before new push to promote his "memoirs of the creator of Father Ted (new cover, some redactions)" book

Also worth considering :

Dropped phone down toilet

Busy working on Father Ted The New Generation

epiphany (after falling for trans person?)

Lol is it? I won't be stopping using it. And tbh I hardly think it's some kind of dog whistle to accuse someone of sophistry.

DreadedScotsman

Surely if it was just a twitter ban he'd have posted about it on the griefhole Substack. Well whatever it is at least he's quiet and not harassing people for a few days.

Was 'dog-whistle' what Kanks was getting at? I've def noticed its overuse by reactionaries (and transphobes in particular) as a convenient way of dismissing anyone who actually takes the time to set out a progressive position. It's a way of signalling one's an intransigent bigot, in other words.

Nothing wrong with using it for something more than bare dismissal, of course.

So there was a (zero-day) vulnerability in Pleroma documented by the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on 10th October. It's ranked 'medium' severity, since it's hard to exploit, and allows path-traversal, which usually means files can be sneaked out of the server.

This means log files, databases, and backups files could have been exported if anyone reasonably smart cared enough. If the database was exported, it would reveal DMs.

There was one other "very recent" zero-day exploit mentioned elsewhere in September. I couldn't find info on it (but also didn't look very hard).

(for anyone non-technical, Pleroma is the software that glindr used to run Graham's sad 'social' network, and it was probably broken, and maybe also got broken into).
