What a bloody letdown.

Please tell me that it isn't typical of his material.

Haven't read it, but the most joyous aspect of his improv stories for me is the way he effortlessly constructs antagonistic dialogue between characters, which I imagine wouldn't necessarily translate to the page.

Quote from: extraordinary walnuts on October 06, 2023, 05:56:37 PMHave enjoyed the Cilla this week, and the frame-by-frame dissection of the Bee Gees' Clive Anderson Show flounce, lorra larfs.

Hasn't he done the Bee Gees flounce before? Could have sworn I've seen him do that, might be thinking of something else though

Captain Z

I think he's done everything before at this stage. There's a few clips out there now where he looks something up on YouTube only to find a video of himself watching the same thing 2 years ago, although I'm yet to see the first "Limmy watches Limmy watching Limmy watching [thing]". Only a matter of time.

It's already happened a few times:

EDIT: Ah fuck...you said "Limmy watching Limmy watching Limmy watching [thing]", didn't you?

Captain Z

I love that top one, but I'm talking about a level of Limception deeper than that.

His material (such as his book) is in fact quite typical of his material. Probably not for you.

Retinend

I loved Daft Wee Stories. What's not to like?

Only a little thing from one of the Surprise Surprise streams from a few fays ago. Bob Carolgees is at some military training ground with some woman who has always wanted to drive a tank. Carolgees is in military fatigues to which Limond states "He looks like a war criminal". I had a guffaw.

Daft Wee Stories is fine but the audiobook is the one.

Switched on the other day while Limmy was engaging in a comparison between Hank Marvin and Clubber Lang:

Him getting arsey at people telling him to buy a steam deck that he doesn't need or want has tickled me:

Tend to assume most people are following the relevant channels, but he's been doing more 80's TV shows including Surprise Surprise, Generation Game, The Krypton Factor and Treasure Hunt.

I've wondered for a long time if the word 'Blenheim' would ever come up, and sure enough he doesn't disappoint.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but has anyone seen Saltburn at the cinema recently? One scene in particular made me think of Limmy and one of his more famous doodles...

GMTV

Father of threeeee. Had me in absolute stitches. Captures the tone of Scottish TV news journalists perfectly.

Bunty Levert

It's always a good one when he makes himself laugh.

Two Headed Sex Beast

A CATALOG OF VIOLENCE

I remember he had some vines with those voices too, very accurate

I truly fucking detest the sound of  a Scottish accent that's been tidied up to make it accessible to lazy bastards who can't be arsed listening properly.

Limmy nails it here and it also appears on Scottish TV dramas and Scottish actors who go to the States, the 'Cregg' Ferguson affect.

The Scottish cringe in full effect.

I think Burnistoun did a good sketch about that, kind of was like a monkfish type guy but Scottish resenting the fact he had to annunciate his t's for the English twat.
