From what we've seen in America, it appears that avatars are not a deterrent for twattery.

But as per my point in that very thread you're mentioning, Mr. McGee, this isn't a political poll. I wouldn't be quite so flippant about an important issue.

I find it far easier to look at CaB at work than any oother forums, as avatars are a right giveaway that you're looking at non-work related matters.

One of the things I like about CaB is the lack of design choices in the way each person posts - no fancy avatars, no gigantic signatures, no backgrounds or epeleptic fonts: in short, you actually have to let the words do the talking.
