i am watching the second lethal weapon (lethal weapon 2) whats your best lethal weapon. do you enjoy the other lethal weapons. what lethal weapon stories and interesting trivia do you have and know. please do not post the Always Sunny bit.

Butchers Blind

I like when the older cop says he's too old to shit.

QDRPHNC

Havent seen any of them in years, but I remember liking 4 more than 3 - surreal opening scene, Jet Li, Chris Rock, and if I remember correctly the final big fight doesn't have any bombastic music over it, which stuck out to me in a Hollywood action movie.

Sebastian Cobb

I think the dynamic between Rock and Pesci does a fair bit of heavy lifting in 4.

Mister Six

1- Great Shane Black dialogue, nicely dark and weird with Riggs being genuinely fucked in the head by Vietnam, some great setpieces.

2- More of the same, but not in a bad way. Still got that darkness with one character in particular getting killed off. Cheesy Hollywood ending tells you at what point and why Black left production.

3- Saw it on telly decades ago, can only remember some wacky bollocks with Joe Pesci on an ice rink(?).

4- Saw it on telly decades ago, can only remember something about shooting a baddie underwater.

Those are my memories, you're welcome.

dontpaintyourteeth

yeah i seen 'em. that is to say i saw them.

Never seen 3 or 4, the first one is great, the second one less so but has the immortal Spunky Backpack line "diplomatic immunity". Riggs pulling a house down with a pick-up? It is also quite mad to think of a non-famous Liam Gallagher watching it, then marrying Patsy Kensit afterwards

Best bit of 1 is when Murtaugh secretly goes downstairs in the middle of the night to watch some porn whilst leafing through a high school yearbook. No wonder the camera just focuses on his face.

Operty1

'Close is a lingerie shop without a front window'

Lethal Weapon 3, have only seen it once and that line is one of the things I remember.

El Unicornio, mang

The bit in 1 with Gibson almost killing himself is surprisingly dark and well done/acted.

Murtaugh's teenage daughter in part 2 played by an actress who was pushing 30.

The Bumlord

I remember liking 1, Gibson plays an excellent nutcase.

What's that?

Brundle-Fly

In LW2, Joss Ackland demonstrates that he would've made a great Bond villain.

Conversely, Danny Glover was only about 40 when he first complained about being too old for that shit.

QDRPHNC

1 has some great dialogue. In the famous scene with Riggs trying to talk to jumper off the roof, there's this wonderful throwaway line during a cut to something else where you can hear Riggs going "look my captain's down there watching me so I have to at least look like I'm trying to save you".

And Anthony Kiedes' dad is one of the cocaine dealers near the start.

3 was ok, but has the worst villain of the lot by far. Nondescript middle aged man with a 'tache.

And Anthony Keides's dad is one of the cocaine dealers near the start.

Jerzy Bondov

The last fight in 4 is really good, are they like under a pier or something? It's Jet Li isn't it. Surprisingly uncompromising fight. The film is also quite racist. 5/5

dissolute ocelot

Should have let Riggs kill himself, then he could have come back from the dead and really kicked some ass.

The first is good (even though it feels horribly cliched now), but the ending is a bit anticlimactic: needs more explosions.

Egyptian Feast

I was a bit startled by all those guns.

BlodwynPig

AI, I'm looking for a film that is a little bit more polished than the Dirty Harry franchise, but not as big theatre as Lethal Weapon or Die Hard, has the mood and aesthetic of Manhunter... ???

Which one has Danny Glover's clearly upper-middle-class suburban egghead kid inexplicably drawn into joining a gang (... because he's Black)?

Elderly Sumo Prophecy

Gibson sports an absolutely bodacious 80's mullet throughout the entire series of films. An excellent specimen.

Edit: The first 3 films. I didn't know there was more. By LW 4 he'd cut it off.

Dex Sawash

I like when LW Cop is in tequila sunrise and the baddie tells him "you fuck like a champion" but I saw that before I knew what that might mean (last week)

Indeed, you can see what people were aiming for when they got a mullet but were never able to achieve. Mullet perfection.

Elderly Sumo Prophecy

If only Pat Sharp had decided to embark on a film career.

Sebastian Cobb

There's probably a parallel universe where they only made one of these but four tango and cashes.

But which Bond villain had Diplomatic Immunity?
