Cliff has also done "Living Doll (two versions)", "The Young Ones", and "In The Country" which are all good tunes - but if you're generous and say he's recorded I dunno, 10 great songs, it's a pretty poor return for over 50 years in the business.  As a professional in the music business, he must surely have some doubts at how poor his back catalogue is in comparison with The Beatles or Elvis;  but he said it almost as though it was not in doubt, that it was established that he was THAT great or important.  I wish I could find the clip, it went something along the lines of "people like me and Elvis and The Beatles..."

Having said that, I suppose you have to have incredible confidence and thick skin (not just around the neck) to have survived this long.

If we're going to talk about great Cliff songs, what about The Day I Met Marie, written by Hank Marvin?
