The sort of prodigious but spud-facedly plain talent that one inspired me to think I could make it as an actor.

I was wrong, of course. My tuberous visage was too unsightly for the camera and too pretty for the stage*.

In summer 2010 I was on holiday in the town of Skipton, Yorkshire with my family. We went to Skipton Castle, and saw something we hadn't know about - a free open air performance of Shakespeare's "the tempest", on the lawn outside the castle, with people sitting and watching. Well, I'm sure David Warner was playing the father, though he wasn't mentioned in any of the information around, and I've never been able to find online confirmation he was there.

to me he was the voice of Ra's Al Ghul in Batman - the animated series, as well as that shocking Omen scene
