Reminded me of this old thread. Or of the noughties generally, where everyone was running about making fun of people just for being gay or having disabilities or whatever. Except, they still had a veneer of irony back then, and a sense there had been some social progress. They weren't all running around wanking on about 'defeating the woke mind virus.'

This stuff is just rotten, and woefully unfunny. I stuck around to see the Elon Musk cameo at the end. They actually sing "thank god for Elon Musk and his shiftless memes... X is the home of free speech" while a flattering looking Elon character enters and waves to the camera.

quite apart from the stupid unfunny shit and heavy-handed BLACK PEOPLE HAVE IT GREAT ACTUALLY, SHUT UP angle with Norm's boss, that ankle bracelet is clearly too big for his ankle. Look at the size of it compared to his foot, it's been sized to match his pant leg and not his actual leg. I could let that go except they made a point of showing him trying to chisel it off, which makes it even more obvious.

The black man gives a beer to the non-binary person, which is a misdemeanour or felony depending on circumstances, so that's a CRIME.

He then says the non-binary person was fine convincing his son to have gender affirming surgery, which I think misrepresents what the non-binary person did as I doubt they were the main cause of Regina's desire to transition, so that's BIGOTRY.

Then he complains about the non-binary person refusing to drink beer, which is complaining about a minor not underage drinking and committing a MIDEMEANOUR.

This show encourages bad behaviour.

Sometimes you wonder like... are they just lying, when they say how brilliant it is? How on earth could you watch that and unironically call it the future of animation? The shit first cartoon at least evokes a style, this one takes the characters from that and makes them artless and lifeless, appearing badly-dubbed in a crap, sloppily-paced 'skit'.

It's like their minds are blown by the very concept that you can make AOC say or do something AOC wouldn't normally say or do. You know, like what South Park has been doing for decades.

Okay ive watched like 5 times now and this is really bothering me; In the first cartoon, at the end, elon musk replaces the letter X from the phrase "The first animated sitcom on X" with the letter X that he is wearing on his t shirt.

WHY?

This may be perfunctory to highlight but the letter X in that sentence was already the letter X.

Its not like it said "on twitter" and then got replaced with the letter X.

Surely there's at least a lazy transition joke in there somewhere.

It's the new twitter logo styling, as in the censored "fuck" I posted above, but I suspect it's also referencing Elon putting that huge big X logo on top of the building.

The one he had to almost immediately take down as the flashing was giving people seizures.
