Psychoville

Watched series one a while ago on the back of that one episode of Inside No. 9, and I found myself really enjoying it, even more so than the League of Gentlemen and IN9 a lot of the time. Didn't get to the Halloween special or series two, for some reason, but I might make the effort now.

It feels like compared to TLOG and IN9, Psychoville doesn't get much attention, but it deserves it, so let's give it some.

It's a great series deserving of more attention. Packed with gags, reliably creepy with twisty plots and a fine cast. The 'Rope' tribute episode requires a special mention.

Brundle-Fly

I watched the Christmas episode at the end rather than between S1 & 2 which kind of sequentially fucked the story arc.

Got to agree, that one's especially great.

Loved it at the time, never really gone back to watch it, mainly because of how terrifying the Mr Jelly sequence was in the Halloween special. Had nightmares of small soul destroying children for weeks after that.

Two Headed Sex Beast

Also need to go back to this – Mr Jelly, Maureen and David, and Joy are all such incredible dark comic characters. I feel like the story got away from me a bit in series 2 but as I say I need to rewatch. Definitely deserves more love.

Jittlebags

Mr Jelly and his hundred hands. Keeps Kids Quiet.

A lot to like, especially series 1. Didn't enjoy series 2 so much, but it's due a rewatch.

JaDanketies

Rewatched Season One a bunch of times. Really need to give Season 2 another go. Felt like the plotline wasn't quite as clear in Season 2 but I did only watch it once, and apparently reviewers think it was very good

Jason Watkins is brilliant in it. Hello, Hoyti Toyti's!

Was the pantomime stuff in the first series? From memory, that really dragged.

druss

Prefer it to League. Doesn't quite reach the peaks of the top tier Inside no 9 episodes for me but it's on a par with most of it and sometimes exceeds it.

Sexton Brackets Drugbust

I preferred series two, as they sacked off the panto plotline - which was the weakest part of the original series - and they started took some extremely bold and unpredictable left turns.

I still answer the phone like this when my wife rings me, she doesn't like it any more

Midas

I liked it at the time. I was less jaded and cynical and was able to let myself feel creeped out by it. The Mr. Jelly storyline in the Halloween special was a highlight. I think I might give it a rewatch this Halloween, though I'll have to track down the standalone DVD to see it in its complete form because I vaguely recall that only the cut-down international edit of the special appears on the complete series box set.

DSBoy

It'd be nice if they put it on iPlayer so people sucked in by Inside No. 9 could easily experience it too.

I want to re-watch it, but I no longer have a DVD player, so a bit of a headache to do so.

bgmnts

Very fucking funny show.

Mr Jelly and the Sowerbutts are obvious highlights but every character has a funny story.

Hobo With A Shit Pun

Psychoville is the only show where I've enjoyed online expanded universe bonus content - each character had a fake website somewhere online, and they were good.

Hollywood success, BAFTAs and Oscars count for nothing in our house. Whenever Daniel Kaluuya appears in something we say "Oh look, it's Tealeaf."
