Phil Hoban from Predator Exposure

About a year ago I discovered this compilation of nonce hunting cognoscenti Phil Hoban.

https://twitter.com/noncepocalypse/status/1418635572399288327?s=20

In it he expresses mild displeasure at the faces of the alleged nonces he's exposed. It's one of the most extraordinary videos I've ever seen. Since then I've developed an obsession with Predator Exposure and have watched almost all of their videos.

Phil is arguably the most obnoxious, stupid, inarticulate, and abusive man on the planet but I find him utterly compelling and hilarious. In fact he's probably made me laugh more than almost anyone else which makes him suitable for a thread I think.

Basically... you is fucked!

touchingcloth

I've never come across Phil before, but based on the brief paragraphs you have written and the picture you have shared, I'm saying there's no chance he's not a nonce. Methinks the pedo doth protest about how it thinks other peodos doth protest too much too much.

Lemming

Was watching the video with utter dismay and revulsion but the line "fuckin pervert noncey bastard bollocks" got to me. Dizzying laughter.

That's him at his most lucid and articulate. I should compile a compilation of his most stupid quotes. One of which involved him ranting at a security guard nonce called Mark Riley (no!)

"You're a security guard aren't you Mark? Well let me tell you one thing...you was a security guard. Kids should be able to trust you, you understand me chieftain? Kids should be able to trust you as security guard and errm...go and see that security guard and ask for help"

The video that prompted this thread involved Mr Hoban making numerous Four Lions references to a Pakistani alleged nonce. It was probably racist but also quite funny in its sheer randomness

"This is proper rubber dinghy rapids for eh? You can't shake your eyes...I mean you can't shake your head to make your face all blurry on this one eh?...Nah he doesn't understand, he's being like Brother Faisal"

We bomb the crèche and make the moderate pedos rise up.

Like most people I'm a huge fan of The Bald Nonce, but even so, I was surprised when his catchphase became a popular sound with tiktokkers seemingly unaware of it's origin.

Is this a Phil Hoban sting? I rewatch it every couple of months, great comic timing from both the nonce and the hunter.

The world of paedo hunting is a grim one, because on one hand they're doing something morally good (stopping baddies), but they're often so unhinged themselves it's hard to get behind them fully, especially as it seems like they're getting a power trip from it.

I always get the sense that, like you say, the power trip is the major attraction for the hunters, and they're more fired up by the idea of punishing bad nonces than they are about preventing moral deviancy in general. You never see them setting up stings for white collar criminals, for instance, or splitting their YouTube time between, say, pedohunting and scambaiting.

Edit: they also don't follow the types of procedures you'd expect from even the most tinpot of proper law enforcement agencies like, for example, the Metropolitan police. I've just searched YouTube for Phil Hoban and, after finding out he's a cage fighter and that's what most of the video results for his name are, switched to "Phil Hoban predators", and one of the top results was an interview on This Morning with Holly and Phil entitled "I was accused of being a paedophile while taking my daughter on holiday". I can't say there's not a part of me which is enjoying the nostalgia for those halcyon 90s days where people were firebombing the offices of paediatricians.

Yeah it's Phil. Well worth tracking down the full version. An all time classic with more quotable lines than almost any comedy I can think of. I think it seems less wrong to watch this one as the nonce doesn't seem mentally challenged and vulnerable unlike some of the other stingees. I also get a weird sense of grim nostalgia from it because the nonce dresses, talks, and acts exactly like the chavy teenagers I was surrounded by growing up in the early to mid 00s

Anyway my favourite bit is at the beginning. The hunters usually say something like "we're filming this for our safety and your safety, so we can't say you've attacked us, and you can't say we've attacked you". Obviously this is too much for Phil who says "err... we're filming this for our safety and your safety so errr...no one can say we've hit us"

Most nonce hunting stuff is removed from YouTube or at least the videos are uploaded generically with no names attached -- for example this one* I mentioned earlier in the thread.  If you want to digest Phil's entire oeuvre (including his rap song about nonce hunting and a few comedy dances) you'll have to head to Facebook!

Does Facebook let you browse without an account these days? I junked mine years ago and have no plans to go back.

Is he on Daily Motion or the Vimeos?

I tried to send you a DM with a few of their classic stings but it says you blocked me! Your loss, Cloth!

Not sure about Hoban but quite a few nonce hunters were sexually abused themselves as children which motivates them to go after nonces. I think it would be very difficult for ordinary people to sting while collar criminals as well, how would you even begin to go about this?

The nonce hunters set up profiles online pretending to be kids, so maybe they could go on match.com posing as a bad cheque?

PS I have changed my settings so that all fuckers can PM now. Maybe one day you'll be lucky enough to earn yourself an explicit opt-out if you don't send enough dick pics.

I didn't know that NONCE.TV exists, of course I should have known, but thanks for pointing it out.  I too am becoming quite fascinated with the videos on this site.

There seems to be three types of live sting being capture.  The really boring or unwatchable ones, the ones that are quite exciting normally because it kicks off, and the inadvertently downright hilarious ones like this one which is brilliant - basically a Vic and Bob sketch for real:

https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?ref=watch_permalink&v=1454928021620791

It did intrigue me that, like tech scammers, the teams have got a script down and shared that has a twisted logic to it and doesn't really survive contact with a switched on culprit.  Obviously most of the people they catch are guilty as hell and deserve to be punished, but the nonce hunters are so unlikeable it's not easy at all to side or condone them.  So many of the team badges have horrible extreme group connotations, union jacks and bulldogs and that kind of stuff.  Always a heavy whiff of racism when it's a non-white person.

It's hard to believe a few things.  That the people being sprung don't just refuse to speak to them and incriminate themselves further (it's easier to understand that they are physically compliant as the menace exuding of the teams is incredible).  The old bill basically turn up and just accept the nonce teams' point of view - this suggests that they have hundreds of catches under their belts and very rarely make a mistake.  Even then, it's hard to believe that the teams get away with basically assaulting and imprisoning people often for a couple of hours.  Finally, there seems to be a lot of group think in the teams, received knowledge.  Things like the age of consent being raised to 18 or 21.

As far as the nonces go, it's incredible that they even try to get away with the messages they send in spite of the consequences, and it's incredible that they all have the same list of excuses that they run through when caught. Bottom line, it's a relief that these people have been caught out, but the government should have specialist police doing this work instead of intentionally turning a blind eye to - mainly - thugs, because there's political and economic capital in it.

A lot of the videos end up being removed.  Do we know why?

Elderly Sumo Prophecy

Do they make money out of this? I refuse to believe that they're doing it for purely altruistic reasons. There must be YouTube ad revenue, or Patreon, or GoFundMe, or whatever the hell online people make their money with nowadays.

He looks like a nice lad though.

Some sort of privacy thing? As the hunters are literal vigilantes, their stings might be a bit dodgy with regards to privacy. Or it may prejudice court proceedings.

It falls quite explicitly afoul of one of the examples of content not allowed under YouTube's "harassment and cyberbullying" policies, being:

In that compilation at the top isn't one of them dressed like a Police Officer? Isn't that not legal?

Yeah they wear these cringe inducing hi viz stab proof vests but it says "Marshall" lol not "officer" so apparently it is ok.

touchingcloth

Some of the videos they're in bobby-on-the beat dress rather than traffic police - black trousers, black shirt, black shit clumpy shoes, black walkie-talkie strapped to the chest of their stab vest like an interactive squawking blazer badge.

Haha, pretty sure he says "you're gonna be on the tex offenders register" near the end of that first link, like when you hear idiots talking about texting each other. "She tex me".
Good find.

As for the whole nonce catchers thing. I'm sure they're doing more harm than good.
If it scares a few weirdos out of trying that sort of thing again then I suppose that's good, but I mean we don't know what sort of state these people are in, and most of them were probably abused as children themselves.
Probably requires a lighter touch than Dazza and the lads turning up in ski masks.

What can the police do with any of that? Wouldn't it be considered entrapment, and couldn't the nonce always just say "oh, there's loads of people role playing on there, you shouldn't take it seriously."

Do people actually get charged and put away after these stings or is it just all for show, so the meatheads can get their rocks off playing superheros at the weekend?

And the fuzz hate them because they potentially compromise cases.

The far right hyper fixation on paedophiles creeps me out tbh.

Pleased we've got another active thread on this. I fell into a hole of these videos since the thread from two or three years ago about an amateur comedian (Alex Black?) being stung. They're endlessly fascinatingly grim, the UK ones especially.

This Phil fella is the one whose videos often start with the camera facing downwards as he's walking towards his target, showcasing his 'ard-man freezing-weather shorts and stupid little blue trainers, yes?

Someone posted in the Belt My Arse thread recently about how the age of consent in Japan is 8 months or something BANANAS. I like the idea that one day there will be international nonce sorter-outers who go around sorting the fuck out of nonces who aren't nonces according to their own countries laws.

Imagine Phil stomping around Tokyo going "do you know what we call people like you? Or would if you were subject to The Queen's Great British Laws? Fucking dirtyu kiddy-fiddru, pal. And then an American hunter turns up and collars Phil for having the temerity to, as he is renowned for, touch up 16 year olds. "Hey, buddy, why I outta beat your ass, you filthy whatever-the-yankeeist-adjective-for-noncery-is animal".

Speaking of the queen and international differences in age-of-consent law, I wonder what Phil and co think about Andrew's abuse of a 17-year-old, if he thinks at all?
