Yes, that is a John Peel doll on the floor

Good LORD that Lady Gaga cover is bad. I get a feeling it might be a temp cover though...

I really like that Band Of Gypsy's cover.

Me too. What's so terrible about it exactly?

The Cloud of Unknowing

An album of Robert Johnson covers that he was contractually obliged to do last year as a trade-off for doing an album of his own songs.  Lacks imagination and ambition inside and out:

Subtle Mocking

I wouldn't want to see Todd Rundgren's johnson either.

Heh.  Bebe Buell speaks highly of it in her autobiography.

   (Sorry.)

Lee Van Cleef

Supposedly the artwork for the new Limp Bizkit album.  I don't like the band, but even then... why is Gollum in the background sniffing his finger?

Utter Shit

El Unicornio, mang

I have to say though, that's a "good" terrible album cover

Ha ha! That's ace!

This isn't...

Oh god, after hearing some very sub-Jarrett piano music at the start of a Joe Jackson collection (you know, that guy, Is She Really Going Out With Him, Steppin' Out) and being confused as to why it was on a compilation of loserish new wave pop, I've been reading about his mid-nineties excursions into 'serious' classical music. Sounds bloody dreadful, and the album covers are complete pap:

This band managed to host a whole series of shit covers! Tis one in particular always seemed especially shitey!Oh yeah they seemed to be pretty big artists in the nosebleed Gabba scene.

I just came across this:

The guy on top does not look like an official member of the band seemingly named "Pornland".
He looks like he won a prize to appear on the album cover, or maybe he's some creepy ghost who appeared only once the picture was developed. Mmm. Spooky.

I love Yello to bits, and they've had some excellent album covers in the past, then in 1991 they released 'Baby'.
Decent enough album music-wise, but this was the artwork they plumped for.

Rotten.

Yeh, the worst of the lot - more to do with Dieter's hair in my opinion. But they did have some great early covers. (Planet Dada was rubbish as well)

Can't post that porno land on facebook, damn!

Guy in the local record store pulled this out from somewhere and gave me a lecture on why it was so wrong - as if it was not obvious

Terrible, the speech bubble especially. A rare bad cover for Zappa, though.

Serge

This fucker has been torturing me by staring up from the counter at me all week.

I suppose it's nice of them to warn people of how bad the album is by making the cover equally bad.

Eis Nein

I own this album due to fairground ineptitude.

Ha! Would you believe I came with the intention of posting that same cover today? But as soon as I clicked on the thread, I just knew it was going to appear. And it did!

It's the opposite of bad (or, rather, it's meant to be cheesy); it totally fits the meaning of the content. A parody of youth culture of the period.

Whatever; I wouldn't have it any other way.

I saw the album advertised on telly the other day (while Fresh Meat was on, I think) and remember thinking: hmmm, must post that on that awful album cover thread. Because it is fucking awful.

I... what. I thought that art was just promo art as I saw it on some website or other and assumed that the recurring face motif was just a smaller precursor for what would reveal itself on the cover to be something much more wholesome.

Shite.

I'd rather spend the night with 'Ken by request only'.
She reminds me of the harbinger of Zuul in Ghostbusters.  "ARE YOU A GOD?  ...THEN DIIIE!"
