Quote from: Malcy on April 23, 2022, 06:01:02 PMThink the next DLC is next month. Haven't heard much other than the usual Liberty City expansion rumours.

Probably best to ignore those rumours every single time. Instead the DLC appeared today and it is a big pile of quality of life improvements, and one major quality of life downgrade.

Plus some new missions and vehicles.

You can now do p. much everything in closed sessions, all the old businesses got new content, the old heists now pay out more, but if you solo Cayo Perico then there's now a three day cool down.

For racing, they've added Anti-Grief ghosting and Ghost to first check point to the creator. I think these were features limited to certain race modes prior, and were much needed elsewhere.

Not mentioned on the notes is they fixed the PS5 bookmarks bug, so I can finally do custom races again.

I think the Cayo Perico nerf is fair enough - people have had three years to grind it, now they just have to grind it slightly more slowly.

Rizla

Interesting, look forward to seeing how this oppressor nerf works. Hate those things, never bought one, wish there was a way of having real-world-vehicle-only games. It's so much funnier to grief after other players in a VW firing a revolver or whatever.

Quite enjoyed a couple of rounds of Inch by Inch the other night, good laugh that one.

Not quite, year and a half innit? Seems like only yesterday mind.

QDRPHNC

You're right, it came out in December 2020.

I blagged one off a modder, a while ago, but it's only useful if you've got a bell-end on your server. I'd much rather cruise around in the Deluxo.

Don't suppose they've added any of the "new" vehicles to the base set yet? There are so many cars that just don't spawn normally.

The Opressor is one of the handiest vehicles in the game. I mainly use it for getting around and it's handy for a lot of missions but can understand why people hate them.

No, it's bloody stupid, and if you disagree I will chase you in my tractor and shoot at you with my flintlock.

Rich Uncle Skeleton

uninstalled not long after getting an oppressor (wept for there were no worlds left to conquer) I have to admit it was great finally having one. really handy for just nipping from A to B but unsurprisingly once I got it the immediate temptation to shoot at every single player I encountered with it was out of this world.

QDRPHNC

The Oppressor is handy, it's just a pity it outclasses every vehicle by far when it comes to being an arsehole. I own one, but I never use it. If I'm going to fly around, much prefer the Deluxo or Akula.

Bring it!

Have made about $5/6m since the update. Over $4m of that was on a Nightclub goods sale that was less than 3/4 full. The bonus on sell missions has been handy, as are these new excess goods at the office and bunker. was 150k for the first sale on each of them.

Didn't enjoy the first United Paper or whatever mission so haven't gone back to the rest. 50k daily income in the nightclub is a good boost as is the ejecting people from the club thing that keeps the popularity up without flying blimps or putting posters up.

Rizla

Got up to the (I think) final of the UP missions last night but kept getting assblast by juggernaut, will try again tonight after I restock amor and snacks. Pretty good overall. Haven't fully explored the other parts of the update yet. I have to say though, for a game I've been playing for 5 or 6 years now, I'm still fucking shit at large parts of it. I'm an ace driver and a crackshot from the car, but in an on-foot shootout I'm a headless chicken fumbling around in and out of cover like a silly sod.

Malcy

Has anyone managed to do a Cayo Perico race yet? I've tried 3 times and I'm the only one in the lobby so have gave up.

Actually managed to complete the first Cayo mission yesterday. I gave up on it the first 2 tries. Was too long and Unskip-able cutscenes just annoyed me.

Dunno if I'll go back to it.

I managed to do the 10 Perico races you need to get the discount on the Draugur without much problem. The good news is, even if you are the only person in the race it appears to still count towards the 10 (I did the first 3 that way before I realised I had my jobs defaulting to Closed).

Big GTA 6 leak/hack - videos are all over YouTube, but probably not for long. Looks alright.

Spoiler alert

Seems to be at least partly set in Vice City

It's very funny/depressing how people are reacting like it looks terrible when this is clearly a very early build, not intended to be seen yet.

QDRPHNC

Yes, at least a year old most of it. And someone on Reddit pointed out it's running on relatively low end graphics card.

I hear that the filenames for the videos are the dates that the gameplay was screen recorded - earliest are from 2021, and some are a week old. The GPU data can be seen in the clips - there's a range of GPUs used, the 3080 being high end, but that's not so relevant really - it's running poorly because it's in development and it's at least two years away. Some exciting stuff in there though! Lots of prompts for interacting with people in different ways.

Malcy

Rage quit this a few times in the past week or so. Something I haven't done for a long time. The heists were full of people just taking the piss and today i decided to do a few stunt races. I lasted 2 then switched it off. Now I remember why i stopped doing them.

New update on the 12th. I really hope it fixes the really bad pop up and freezing but not holding my breath. Feel like I'm reaching the end of playing it. I have everything I want. Always got around $40m and getting about $2.5m per nightclub sale which is 2x faster at accruing goods for the next week as well which is good.

I've barely played Online since the amazing first winter where with the right DNS settings you'd find people dropping billions of in-game dollars for anyone to pick up. It was a wild and lawless time and I miss it.

Anyway, Rockstar ended up confiscating the less than legal money, and things bought with it (got to drive those Shark Card sales!) and I've only dipped in every other year or so.

My question is, if I started playing it again, how badly ratfucked am I going to get by squeaky voiced 12 year olds with lights in their trainers?

Since the last update, you can do everything (almost*) in closed sessions now. So being bullied by children on rocket broomsticks is now optional.

* Bits of the Terrorbyte still need to be in public sessions to work, but that's likely a bug.

Malcy

I've never had the voice chat on. Can't think of anything worse. Although when I'm in a lobby waiting to start a heist or a race sometimes someone booms over the mic and it bugs the shite out of me.

New update on the 13th.

QuoteStarting December 13, Los Santos Drug Wars injects a new psychoactive strain of chaos into Grand Theft Auto Online on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Head straight to Blaine County and join up with old pal Nervous Ron and a new band of out-of-state misfits on a mission to put their stamp on the Los Santos psychedelics trade. Fight off an unlikely coalition of wealthy hippies and trigger-happy bikers while cooking up potent hallucinogenics — in elaborate labs or out of your own massive rolling chemistry set — in the opening chapter of an expansive new two-part story update for GTA Online.

Caution: Los Santos Drug Wars contains a range of wild side effects, including a new business enterprise to operate, new vehicles and missions, and experiential upgrades. And this is just the first dose — be prepared for lots more exciting events, including some jolly holiday hijinks, significant story and gameplay updates, and much more to come.

Also more game improvements coming this month

QuoteWith this year drawing to a close, we'd like to thank our devoted community of enterprising criminals, creators, and competitors in Grand Theft Auto Online, and provide some details on what is still to come.

It's been incredible to see everyone share Snapmatics of UFOs above the Los Santos Skyline in our biggest Halloween event ever, rep their favorite soda in the battle between Sprunk and eCola, enjoy featured races and modes from talented creators around the world via the Community Series, and most recently score an incredible GTA$4 TRILLION collectively in The Heists Challenge.

As a result of that absolutely staggering take in The Heists Challenge, a new vehicle in the upcoming GTA Online update — the retro-styled Declasse Tahoma Coupe — will be made available to all GTA Online players for a limited period later this month.

Building off a suite of adjustments made earlier this year — and as part of our continued commitment to make improvements based largely on player feedback, this December's GTA Online update will add a wide range of new improvements to Freemode and beyond, many of which were submitted directly by players via the GTA Online feedback website.

QuoteGeneral Improvements
Get to your favorite iFruit Contacts faster — select which Contacts to display or hide via the Interaction Menu.

The Benefactor Terrorbyte can be used to launch Business Sell Missions in all Session types, including Invite-only Sessions.

Take on Agatha's Casino Story Missions as a solo operator by visiting the Management Office of The Diamond Casino & Resort (these missions previously required at least 2 players).

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will add ray-traced reflections — rendering real-time reflections on many surfaces — via the Fidelity Mode graphics setting.

Vehicle Updates
New vehicle purchases will arrive in your Garage faster than before.

Select Custom Weaponized Vehicles can now be used in Races, where appropriate — weapons will be disabled outside of GTA Races.

Bicycles will be added to the list of vehicles that can be requested from your Personal Garage when calling the Mechanic.

Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can enjoy full access to Hao's Special Works without needing to complete Hao's introductory race.

Economy Updates
Completing Vehicle Cargo Sell Missions in Public Sessions will award a High Demand Bonus, bringing this in line with all other business activities, while payouts on Smuggler's Sell Missions will be permanently tripled.

Get more of what you want faster with an across-the-board increase in the GTA$ value of all Shark Cards. Starting today, all Shark Card denominations have been boosted by 20–25% when purchased directly in GTA Online or via any of the platform stores. For special GTA+ Member Shark Cards, this is on top of the current 15% bonus GTA$.

Looks like they're still only going to have one of the fairly small handful of cars spawning, though. Makes no sense when they've had nearly 10 years of new cars in the game.

That's good to know, even if I did have to look up what a Terrorbyte was.

Do they still make you wear a dunces hat if you've been too naughty in the game that is literally all about crime?

letsgobrian

The new DLC feels like they had hoped to get Steven Ogg back to voice Trevor, couldn't and so replaced him with annoying new faux-Juggalo character Dax.

Malcy

Yeah and they are all annoying. Close to KDJ & Sessanta levels of annoying. The 4th mission is a lot of fun though.

Famous Mortimer

A few of my old friends are back playing it, so I thought I'd pop on and have a mess about. You can buy a taxi and just relax, driving people around. Nice! Okay, it's nearly half a million, even with the discount from doing ten fares in a row, but I've got the money.

It's like Rockstar are just enjoying being confusing at this point, though. The taxi, not renowned for its military function, is only available from Warstock, and there's zero indication during the buying process as to where it's stored. I've spent five minutes looking through all my options and can't see it. Why not just treat it like a normal car?

Malcy

I've given up for it for the moment. Got the complete GTAIV on steam for a fiver so enjoying that again.

Is the taxi maybe available through the special vehicles but in the interaction menu? I haven't bought it yet but think you can get it through Arena War as well and it's cheaper.

QDRPHNC

You don't have to buy the taxi to do taxi missions, you just need to go to the taxi building by the casino and start the job.

I was more asking where the taxi I've already bought is, rather than whether I should have bought one in the first place.
