.... For Mac? Is there such a thing? Any time I try and use iVideo my MacBook just weeps and cries, and the tiniest thing takes an hour. Does anyone have any recommendations for simple free programmes which let you throw together a simple video, cut a bit of footage together, etc? Nothing fancy, just something that actually WORKS for YouTube uploads and the like.

Thankee!

Isn't iMovie the Mac 'My First Video Editing'™ bit of software ?

EDIT: Oh I thought it came with the OS, didn't realise it was a separate thing ....

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Avidemux is a great tool for simple video editing. As it's open source, I'm pretty sure there will be a Mac implementation.

It's just never really worked for me. It hates video files of every possible kind. A two-minute AVI will either be ignored, or take about 12 hours to process. In short, fuck iVideo with a large penis.

Avidemux? Cheers, Consignia, will check that out.

I'm guessing by 'iVideo' you're meaning 'iMovie' ? (I thought there was another Mac app with a similar name so suggested the other one)

Jemble Fred

Yes, sorry, iMovie – I'm on a work Mac right now so didn't have access to my applications to check the name.
