Cheap mobile

Hi. Does anybody have a recommendation for a cheap mobile? It doesn't need data or applications. It's purely for receiving calls on a separate SIM card I have for work. It used to be (six years ago) that you could easily buy a 2000-era Nokia-style phone for a tenner, but I can't find acceptable ones now (and that form factor is probably unnecessarily large now).

How about this?

It's probably SIM-locked, but it's available on a few networks so shouldn't be that much of a problem.

Why get another phone if all you need is the other sim card?

I'd rather just have a separate phone that lasts a week on one charge that I don't have to micromanage and won't accidentally eat the PAYG credit on by enabling data on it instead of my unlimited contract SIM.

Thanks for the recommendation, canadagoose. Looking at phone sites and ordering by price, the Nokia 100 seems like the best bet. It's easily found as an unlocked phone on eBay, and is hopefully like the Nokia of old which is the best thing next to a recommendation from somebody.

Oh well, the gizmo is also useful for other things like turning your iPod touch or Wi-Fi only tablet into a phone/mobile data device.

It does look pretty neat.

For anybody following this boring saga, I managed to pick up a Nokia 100 from eBay for £9.20.

I'm very irritated that I didn't call this topic "Which Dumb Phone?".

Doesn't look too bad for a £10. It's the sort of thing I'd have gone for if I didn't have an itch for a smart phone.

It's okay, you'll probably realise that the phone is actually sim-locked to Tesco right after you've paid.

Never trust the descriptive abilities of people who can't distinguish between "your" and "you're".
