just felt a little skeevy to me. but not enough for words. sorry

selectivememory

Good episode, though I'm maybe not as hyped about it as some of you, but no complaints. Honestly Dara and his wig was the high point of the episode for me.

(and yeah, maybe people could keep their horny-posting to the designated thread, because it just feels a bit unnecessary and is probably very off-putting to a lot of people)

Old Thrashbarg

Bit surprised this needs saying, but @C_Larence was very obviously posting ironically to highlight the shite casual objectification in Retinend's post.

jobotic

Sorry for any doubt but yeah, was doing this.

I think he just likes talking about women that way. Many hide their sexism behind irony, after all.

A likely story... Awfully convenient if you ask me.

I completely got that the first time, although it was a bit clumsy; not sure how people have such a sense of humour bypass that they took it as if you were even subconsciously serious.

Endicott

Chalk me up as another one who understood the intended irony of @C_Larence and is also completely fucking sick of reading misogynistic objectification in posts on here. You lads have got a thread for it, keep it in there.

jofo

I for one love the misogynistic objectification.

and may I say, what a smashing blouse she had on.

The Lurker

Very enjoyable episode. Dara certainly excels in the Taskmaster format. It does help that the CoC and New Years Treat episodes are "one-offs" so they're only really gonna show the best stuff possible in one hour.

Same.

Anyway, yes - Dara is someone who I wasn't excited about being on the show but turned out to be a GBOL.

Small Man Big Horse

I wish I'd enjoyed it as much as everyone else but I struggled with this one. I liked pretty much everything Kiell did (which was the opposite of my opinion during his series, but I've since see String V SPITTA and loved it, so that's probably why), and the do something stupid task was pretty good (though Sophie and Sarah's efforts didn't make me laugh), but I disliked the wait on Alex and put a hat on Greg tasks, and the end live task wasn't great either. Sorry.

greencalx

Great, albeit weirdly under-promoted, episode. Was only because of this thread I'd realised it had aired.

Seems like it's done to a much tighter schedule than the main series episodes, which I think maybe helps. Probably means the tasks have to be simpler, and they make use of the nearby locations, which gives it a more DIY feel which was part of the charm of the first series.

Yeah for each contestant it's just one days filming as revealed by Alex on Sarah's tasks - and I guess studio probably not that long after. New Year's Treat is the same

gilbertharding

I've refused to watch any of the CoC episodes since they ditched the two-episode format.

i'm curious, what's your basis for that?

The second and third CoCs only competed for half the number of tasks compared to the first one.

superthunderstingcar

That'll teach those clowns at city hall Channel 4 a lesson.

Well if you are going down that road, you should never have watched the first CoC in the first place as Bob and Noel had done way more tasks than Rob and Katherine having been in 8 episodes vs their pathetic 5 with Josh in the middle having done a mildly more acceptable 6.

At least from Series 6 onwards (and the second CoC onwards), every contestant had been in a consistent 10 episodes.

If it keeps the same format going forward, when it gets to Champion of Champion of Champions, Josh will still be the contestant who has been on the least Taskmaster episodes, despite being on a double-ep of CoC.

Sometimes you just have to make a stand, no matter what the cost. I just can't take it seriously as a competition.

(I don't watch the New Years ones either, because they keep inviting actual tories on it).

Can't you take it humorously as a comedy show?

BritishHobo

I wonder if they would consider ending it on Champion of Champion of Champions. Assuming they keep to two series a year, they'll reach 25 in 2028. They might be keen to pack it in by then, although it has become such a juggernaut that maybe they'll crack on forever.

Looking forward to Jish winning CoCoC, thus rendering seasons 2-25 completely redundant

Norton Canes

Haha that's a really funny typo, 'jish' is Farsi for wee wee

Bad Ambassador

I thought he and Nish had a transporter accident.

Which Tories?

Rankersbo

Baroness Warsi for one, who basically to my mind puts the current leadership and cabinet into sharp relief. Not that she's beyond criticism mind.

There's also Deborah Meaden who is a business woman, who is not a Tory.

One then?

There may be others I am unaware of. But if there aren't it is only one, yes.
