I'm only a few minutes in but the latest premium episode is really something. It feels like The Joker's home video from The Dark Knight but more racist.

Seems they've finally been moved to make some changes - apparently committing to uploading Patreon exclusive sketches, shooting scripts, giveaways etc. I unsubscribed a few months ago for the first time since day one. Has any of this stuff showed up?

So far the first sketch has been uploaded. They said they will be doing one a week but I highly doubt that will last more than a month.

Ian Fidance appearing on Rogan isn't something I had on my bingo card for this year.

MortSahlFan

Mike Recine just had his first special

but I think he's at his most funniest on Out For Smokes

iamcoop

Looking forward to watching that special, I've got a lot of time for Recine. He seems like a GBOL as well.

I was going to start a thread for this until I caught up with this one. Ridiculously funny stuff, better than Stav's and even Nick's special honestly. Not one to miss. Good shout on Out For Smokes too Mort.

Any fucking questions?

Nick Mullen does a great job demolishing some fuckwit mindlessly regurgitating "lol try being gay in Palestine" hasbara:

Good lad.

Anyone see Recine in London the other week? Wish he'd have done more than one date here though. Out of all of the Cum Town scene he's the only one I'd really like to see live.

Garam

I saw Recine. It was decent, he did seem a bit nervous though. Haven't watched the YouTube special yet so don't know how much material overlap there was

haven't been following the AFS that closely, who was that dunce they had on?

Stav is on Tires, a sitcom with Shane Gillis that just dropped on Netflix.

He was alright, not terrible, not amazing.

It's good though, I enjoyed it

Is he actually eating in every scene or is that just a funny joke they made on the Adam Friedland Show subreddit?

Ornlu

Now I think about it, I don't think I've ever actually seen Stav eat anything on camera.

Pretty much, to the extent they make a point of him throwing away food in a later episode to underline the jeopardy.

His character is written more as a mild antagonist than comic relief surprisingly.

Shane Gillis was OK, bit too much early 00s American Pie humour for me though. All dick slaps and honking about titties.

Found the lead hilarious though and he holds it all together. Its an easy watch and I binged it all in one sitting without becoming sick of it.

Weirdly also has the lieing journo from the last episode of The Wire in it. Didn't really get the point of his character but his delivery was basically the same just with a beard now

Memorex MP3

They seem to no longer be doing episodes together? An attempt to shake things up than a falling out, I gather. Still has a real lack of any energy to it at all but Mullen does seem a bit more capable of coming up with bits when it's just him and a guest.
Was implied they're gonna stick at it for another 12 months until the lease is up. Not sure what would happen then but I can't imagine either of them will be too interested in killing the patreon so long as its generating enough to live on.

Watched the Gillis special, he's funny and is very talented at threading the needle of offensiveness in a way that's gonna make a LOT of money but his whole style feels like it has quite a low ceiling in terms of payoff.

amputeeporn

Good they're taking some time apart.

Re: Nick and Shane. Can't remember if I've mentioned this but reading This Band Could Be Your Life, I was really struck by the Dinosaur Jr story. Blah blah they were hot and in the perfect position to take a new sound mainstream. But right at the precipice, they seemed to intentionally step back, resulting in the original line up falling apart.

A couple of years later Nevermind hit and the Dino Jr bassist ran into the Dino Jr singer and said 'that could have been us, asshole'.

Stav's the bassist, Nick's the singer, and I guess Shane's Nirvana. (Except Stav managed to get out in time with his own version of that style.)
