For the first time in weeks, I don't have to look after a poorly dog this Saturday. Anyone want to join me getting out the Genocide is Sh*t for C*nts banner again in London? We're marching on the US embassy this week and there's evidence that civil society pressure is having some effect on Washington at last. Forecast looking ok too.

Solidarity with whichever is the good guy side

BlodwynPig

Take care, Rishi's army will have the batons out no doubt

pancreas

Would be in, but not in the area.

Come on you cunts, help a sister hoist a banner with GENOCIDE IS SHIT FOR C*NTS on it.

flotemysost

Yeah!! Let's march against genocide and inadvertently corrupt some more kids!

On a frivolous sociable note, I'm gonna have to scarper in the afternoon at some point but if there are plans for a communal sit down afterwards, I can categorically confirm the pubs immediately near the Embassy are dogshit. Some decent options in Pimlico though; Morpeth Arms is alright for an easy-to-find option (and allegedly haunted, which is nice)

lauraxsynthesis

Thanks for that flote! I had been wondering about pub options including for folks not able to actually march but wanting to touch the legendary banner.

Can you add a poll to the thread so we can choose who gets immolated on the London Eye?

Buelligan

The IDF have produced this helpful graphic to illustrate that event.  Just keep our tookish away is all.

BUMP!

I'd give immolation a whirl but I can't be bothered.

Haven't been to The Surprise before but that looks decent. Nothing is near Nine Elms as such, it's a fucking shithole that by rights should be water soluble, but this is down the road where some normals live.

Bump! I have made vegan chocolate cookies and might still have some left on Saturday.

Lob some rocks at that that infuriating glass-bottomed swimming pool that nobody uses = job done

Aeons since I've been to The Surprise, but it's pretty good from what I remember. Tbh I'm easy; the previous times I've joined the march when it's been the Embassy route, it's been so staggeringly well-attended we didn't even make it to the end point (which is obviously a GOOD THING)

Aw, nice one! However I'm afraid this sort of behaviour is included on the updated list of Prevent guidance.

Not much to add other than I floated around the pubs close to the US Embassy last month (not a terrorist) and The Lukewarm Morpeth Arms is your best bet.  Youngs really does have a monopoly in certain areas of London.

And now this - https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-68508351

Quote from: that articleLondon has become a "no-go zone for Jews" during weekend pro-Palestinian marches, the government's counter-extremism commissioner has said.

Robin Simcox urged ministers to "be bolder and be willing to accept higher legal risk" when tackling extremism.

Quote from: WikipediaRobin Simcox is a politician and anti-Islam researcher who is the current Commissioner for Countering Extremism (CCE) at the United Kingdom Home Office.

In 2009, Simcox worked as a research fellow at the conservative Centre for Social Cohesion (CSC) think tank,[2] at which he wrote a report on the Middle Eastern, Asian and Russian donors of UK universities,[3] and later at the Henry Jackson Society when the CSC was subsumed into it in 2011. That year, he wrote in The Weekly Standard that while David Cameron's policies were neoconservative, the prime minister was "at pains not to be tarred with the neoconservative brush", as well as that neoconservatives' opponents had "hijacked the term" and that it should be taken back.[4]

He joined The Heritage Foundation's Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom in January 2016 and became a Margaret Thatcher Fellow, specialising in counterterrorism.

In a 2016 article, Simcox rejected the term "violent extremism" and argued that it was "dreamed up as a way to avoid saying 'Islamic' or 'Islamist' extremism in the months after the July 2005 suicide bombings in London".

In a tweet in June 2019, he defended YouTuber Mark Meechan, also known as Count Dankula, who was convicted over a video showing a dog performing Nazi salutes.

In another September 2019 article, he called for prime minister Boris Johnson to "push back on 'Islamophobia'" as a term used by the left, and to be "wary" of an internal review of the Conservative Party, while also stating that Extinction Rebellion, Unite Against Fascism and the far left "need monitoring". He left the Heritage Foundation to found the Counter Extremism Group in July 2020.

Seems reasonable in a democratic society, nothing at all to worry about.  This man is being highly paid by you to do this btw.
