This seems to be a growing phenomena, and my favourite is The knight warrior -  http://www.knightwarrior.co.uk/ some lad who stalks the streets of Salford at night with a first aid kit feeding homemade sandwiches to homeless people.

Watching his videos  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tV3JBhQxjrc as he vaults over park benches, and his interview on the frank skinner show, he comes across as genuinely a bit simple, but his 'philosophy' of helping people seems to be genuine and warm hearted.

Very easy to take the piss out of him as it is, he seems to be rather charming in a batty way.
