Utter Shit

Probably a long shot, but does anyone have a recording of this? It was on Radio 4 in 1996 but quickly canned after the papers accused it of blasphemy.

The creator, Michael Redmond (Father Stone from Father Ted) mentioned on Twitter that it's no longer available on iPlayer, and thus essentially extinct...I said I'd ask around in case anyone had a copy in their archives, so that at least he can have it saved for posterity.

not this one is it?  or is the radio 4 a later version/reworking?

Utter Shit

Unfortunately not, that seems to be an earlier version (I wasn't even aware of it tbh) from before the BBC series.

I'm surprised that if it was available on iPlayer it didn't transfer onto Fourble at some point, but it hasn't by the looks of things. Maybe it wasn't on iPlayer previously?

Twilkes

A couple of sources imply it was never broadcast, they're Chortle and Wikipedia with a now-defunct link to an Irish Times article, but I would guess that's correct.

A few parts of it may have been broadcast on Alan Davies' Radio 1 show in the 90s according to Wikipedia based on the Irish Times article, although those bits possibly pre-date the Radio 4 recording.

Edit - managed to find the IT article, confirms it was pulled before broadcast:

Might be worth asking Joe Pasquale if he's got a copy.

The Irish Times article was incorrect about it being "later" broadcast on the Alan Davies R1 show, as that series only ran for seven episodes in 1994, and the Radio 4 series was scheduled for 1996.

There was an Eamonn series which ran periodically on Radio 1 as part of a strand during other shows - some of it was during "Shuttleworth Showtime" and some during "Alan's Big 1FM" (which is presumably where the confusion about the R4 series being run on Radio 1 comes from, but as far as anyone knows it wasn't the same as the Radio 4 one which was never broadcast at all.

This post shouldn't go unnoticed.

Magnum Valentino

Did you know he's just self-published it in book form, is that why you're asking? Just last month in fact.

Amazon link.

pigamus

There's a site with a load of old radio on isn't there? I've seen the link posted before.

EDIT: Oh yeah, already mentioned, ignore.

pigamus

Has anyone asked Joe Pasquale if he's got a copy?
