I like John Early, I liked him in that sketch too. He brings a different sort of spoiled, entitled energy to the typical Tim Robinson nuisance (most of whom are the same variety of constipated man-babies). His episode of The Characters was good too, the only one I enjoyed other than Tim's.

Yeah I love John Early's energy in that bill sketch - leaning more towards a tantrum. Probably one of the bits from the show that pops into my head most often is his burst of anger at himself for not thinking of a good lie. Also his sudden switch at the end is a lovely topper. And the hilarious waiter brothers! Fucking love the sketch.

Got overexcited and thought this was out already. Wondered why I couldn't find it on Netflix between the Harry Potter films.

Really looking forward to this. So many of these sketches have repeat value. I still cry laughing with the choking sketch when he meets an influencer.

It would be interesting to hear people's favourite sketches, and why. For me, it's the "The Man" sketch. It's such a well-observed parody of films that have an indefinably unsettling vibe - a kind of Fincher style - but develops in an in entirely unpredictable way. The futility of the old guy having plotted his revenge for a lifetime only to be foiled by booking the wrong seat completely tickles me and is magnified by how absurdly petty his grievance is.

Also, those great little unnecessary (to the plot) script touches - his original trip to Buckingham Palace to try to see if he "could make those soldiers laugh" and "oh, that's a good idea - move in the direction of where I'm heading!". Will Forte's amazing performance underpins the whole thing. Bloody love it, I've watched it dozens of times and it never gets old.

Most of the first series was apparently rejected SNL sketches from Tim Robinson's time as a staff writer (and briefly cast member).

Surely Robinson not being able to get any sketches on the air at SNL is evidence of his sensibility being totally at odds with that show in its current incarnation rather than the same.

I like the Tim Heidecker middle aged man at young person's party sketch. All the nice little observations in that, the bag of walnuts, the cold soup, the names of the jazz greats. "Paul bufano? Paul bufano??" His tired little noise when he sits down or gets up.

I don't think that hat sketch is avante-garde or cool to like, the premise and execution isn't ground-breaking. Take the one where he swears loads on the haunted house tour because he's told it was allowed, and he can't understand why he's getting into trouble.. it's not complicated. anyway can people keep posting their favorite sketches please.

I think if you don't find it funny on really any level, it must look like a lot of mystifying hipster nonsense that is slickly made, stars a lot of "cool kids" but contains no jokes. And the people who are enjoying it must only be doing so on the most superficial level. Or maybe even pretending to like it to look cool??

Baby of the Year is another great sketch, I love the guy who plays the host in that. What a crop.
