And, while I'm on the subject of film themes, I'm after what i think is the main theme from Candyman. Yes, I know, you hear one Philip Glass you've heard them all, but still.

This is called It Was Always You Helen. The first part of it may be what you're after. There is also a music box version of the same melody.

SCC, THANK YOU! That's perfect. I love that film. Probably one of my all-time favourites for no real reason I can discern (my wife was left mystified when I made her sit through it).

Starlit, thanks also! I think what I'm actually after is two different pieces, but that's one of them (the other being the music from the opening titles I think). But it's great to finally have this one. Much appreciated. Another film I really love, and one that freaked me out on first viewing in a way that nothing else would until I saw the Who ep "Blink."

The Plaque Goblin

Many of you here are bound to have a good copy of 'Big Ship' by The Cardiacs, eh?

Hank_Kingsley

The Plaque Goblin

That's bloody brilliant, thank you!

I've had Songs For Ships And Irons on cassette for something like 14 years, but it's only just occurred to me to ask for this track here. Everybody should have a copy of this.

Hank_Kingsley

No problems Gobby Baby.

Now, could someone help me out with some Manics b-sides? Prologue to History and Montana Autumn 78 (or whatever it's called)?

Can anyone oblige with a couple of Eno pieces, please?

I'm after 'Fuseli' and 'Reactor' (both from 'More Music For Flims').

Thanks!

Anyone be able to furnish me with that Streets/Muse collaboration that was apparently circulating a while back ? I'd be eternally grateful.

Also, anyone managed to snag Goldfrapp's 'Winter Wonderland' yet ? I want it badly, but not badly enough to buy a Starbucks-only cd.

Yes!

(I should warn you that neither band is at its respective creative peak. Muse seem to be playing the blues-rock jam that used to lead into live performances of Plug In Baby (check subs)* with the most gear-grinding change of tempo 2/3 of the way through. It's a bit Rage Against The Machine karaoke, really)

Excellent, thanks !

Just had a listen and I'd need to agree with your comments. It's not the greatest, but I really wanted to hear it.

Would any of you kind people happen to have an MP3 of Stephen Merritts performance of A Nun's Litany, which was on 6Music earlier this year? I think it may have been Gideon Coe's show. I'm after an acoustic version of the song (ie. sans distortion).

I have a version from Faith Salie's radio show, Fair Game. It's not what you asked for but it might just work

Does anybody have the Jimmy Webb version of 'Galveston'? Help a brother out.

Actually, since I only have it on crappy 7" vinyl (which got a bit knackered after Evan Dando's roadie chucked most of the 500 copies like frisbees at Reading '97), I'd really like an mp3 of the Lemonheads version of 'Galveston'/'Balancing Act' if anyone can oblige.

I don't suppose anyone has David Arnold's theme from Randall and Hopkirk (the terrible wonderful good-but-overshadowed-by-its-sublime-title-graphics Reeves and Mortimer iteration)? It's about 3'15" into this video:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GyAA_k6hGNE

And then Nina Persson done a song of it

Any form of either of the above will be rewarded with a stout clap on the upper arm

EDIT: this would have been good for the Non-Bonds thread, except David Arnold was in the midst of his Bondy tenure

Does anyone have this exact track/remix on mp3 - I'm not a junglist/dnb'er, so have no idea where to look for it (usual sources are no use).

There's two different tracks there.
I've got a heavy cold at the moment and can't remember my own name, let alone the name of some drum n bass tracks from a few years back.
I'll try again in a few days.

Does anyone have the Carter USM b-side 'R.S.P.C.E.' they could send my way please?

Dear Santa,

I've been a very good boy this year and for Christmas I would like a decent mp3 of the Troika from Prokofiev's Suite from Lieutenant Kijé.  My midi version has seen better days and I'd like to replace it with a new one with which to soundtrack my sleigh-riding activities..

Yours yulely

Dear Stranger

You certainly have! For small values of 'very'. As such, I'm happy to reply with not 'yes' or 'no' but 'Oklahoma State University Percussion or Chenery's Woodwind Symphony'?

(Tee hee! Little does he know that both those recordings are fair-to-unlistenable! Keep looking, readers!)
