Best Comedy Venues in the UK

Since coming back from Edinburgh, I have realised how pitifully little I go to stand up gigs outside of manchester.

Where are your favourite venues for stand up? Whether they are a weekly night in a pub, or a full time comedy venue, it doesn't matter. Obviously I'm checking out the big boys like The Glee etc.

You'll possibly think I'm being cheeky when I say there's no such thing as a best comedy venue.  It's true though....

Well, you're perfectly right as it's the acts that make it. However, with headliners Gavin Webster - the fantastic - and John Scott - the delightfully Scottish - appearing every week, my favourite comedy venue was right on top of The Chillingham Arms in Newcastle. Now sadly defunct.

So do you mean 'Best Stand-Up Venues In The UK'? 'Comedy' isn't a synonym for 'Stand-Up', any more than 'Music' is a synonym for 'Jazz'.
