I suppose you try to rationalise it in your head? The human instinct is to live isn't it? Hell of a thing to live through. As you say, I feel guilty and remorseful over just existing and contributing to the suffering of others indirectly, God knows how it'd be if I committed a heinous crime like that.
I guess that's why so many turn to Jesus. You need something pretty decisive to say "I was a bad person but now I'm a good person!" Being personally saved by an omnipotent supernatural being probably works. But worse for everyone else if you feel part of your penance is to tell everybody about it, over and over, forever.

Every born again Christian I've ever met has had past behaviours of which they were ashamed. Not to the extent of Mr Pitchfork, but alcohol/substance abuse and sexual promiscuity are common.

Do you think Colin Pitchfork's closest friends might call him Pitchers as a form of endearment?  I suppose it's probably a purely academic question....

Well that didn't last long.  He must have missed the comforting structure of prison life, or maybe he has just offed another young girl (even though he promised he wouldn't).

Man who compulsively exposes himself to women, locked up for thirty-odd years where he can't expose himself to women, suddenly finds himself released from prison and ends up back on the wrong side of the law? Scratching my head to work out what's gone on here!

Cold Meat Platter

I think what's happened here, right, is that someone has asked him his nationality and he's replied honestly to that question.

QuoteI was informed earlier this evening by the policing minister that double child rapist and killer Colin Pitchfork has been recalled to prison.

Ladies and gentlemen, double platinum selling Grammy award winner Colin Pitchfork!

One of the families called it an "ill-judged experiment". That would be trying to light your own farts, not doing the thing the parole board has done hundreds of times before.

This was over 22 hours ago. Surely he's done his time and needs to be released again. Yeah he might try to murder more kids, but on the plus side it would really piss Daily Mail readers off so it must be a good idea.

Fambo Number Mive

To be released again after it was found that his 2021 recall to prison was "flawed and not supported by the evidence"

The local MP will be writing to the government asking them to challenge this decision.
