I love how it is now official, in writing, that sending unsolicited pictures of your genitals is within the bounds of the Cricket Australia Code of Conduct.

As a famous philosopher from the Wire said.....Maybe "it's a good strong dick he has and he knows how to us it" so he gets a pass?

Hales dressing in blackface as a tribute to 2pac is "interesting" to say the least.

Can cricketers just be normal for once in their lives?

poo

Feel bad about this but crying Aussie male cricketers is the absolute best

Cuellar

Heard they're just going to get the teams out at the Gabba then lock the doors and machine gun the lot of them.

Harry Badger

I don't think I've ever been more despondent going into an Ashes series than this one. Not even leaking this sexting scandal as a pretext to remove an unsatisfactory captain (otherwise known as 'The Rothley Court solution') has amused me.

Perhaps worthy of comment is that Pat Cummins looks likely to be his successor. I would guess the last specialist bowler to captain in an Ashes series would be Bob Willis.

I'm sure I've seen a picture of Boycott blacked up at one of these tour Xmas parties.

The bookmakers have Australia winning 5-0 as more likely than any series score with England winning. You'd have to go back 20 years or more to when an Ashes tour seemed so utterly hopeless for England. Winning a single test would be a huge success. Particularly when there will be maybe 10 England fans at each test.

I was thinking about the England cricket tour tradition of Xmas fancy dress parties the other day. I know it was big in the 90s and I don't know if they do it any more, but there must be something in the post where a current cricketer has dressed up as Zulu or something.

Of note in that photo, the only person dressed in a racial stereotype is Ray Illingworth, the stereotypical professional Yorkshireman.

Why the fuck would you dress a toddler as a bunny girl? Paeds.

Now do you see?

Good to see Pirate Ned at the front. Solid, harmless choice of costume. Or is it meant to be Napoleon?

I'll work out now who the blacked up player is by a process of elimination (this is the 1990/1 Ashes tour) but Tufnell also looks very suspect there in his fake beard and Arab get-up.

EDIT - pretty sure it's John Morris, a cricketer so mediocre, he is best known for his Tiger Moth flight with Biggles Gower

Here's the Boycott pic:

God being a professional cricketer must be fucking awful. Fuck covid restrictions having to go to the Christmas fancy dress party would stop me touring Australia. Sorry lads, can't go. Need time with the family.

Harry Badger

Just spotted the couple with swastikas on their caps there. Is that Alec Stewart?

Tim 'Rittenhouse' Paine - rape away friend, but only in self-defence.

Pity the Windies and their search for an opening partner for Kraigg Braithwaite. Having finally jettisoned CaB favourite John Campbell, they tried Kieron Powell for a few games only to find that he was also absolute shite, so they went into their Sri Lanka tour having selected a bloke named Jeremy Solazano, an "opening batsman" with a first-class average of 23... only for him to get whacked on the head while fielding on the opening day of the first test, meaning he had to be subbed out for Shai Hope, the net result being that Jermaine Blackwood ended up opening. Scores of 1 and 9 for Blackwood and 10 and 3 for Hope later, the Windies are 42/6 chasing 348.

Looking forward to seeing England outdo that mess in the forthcoming Ashes series.

Fancy dress really is the biggest piece of cunts' shit isn't it

Inspector Norse

It's good to see that test cricket is back after all the kwik krikkit nonsense last month.

NZ making a strong start in India, Southee prompting an Indian collapse this morning and the NZ openers looking good in response. They just keep on impressing, though their lack of quality spinners will probably end up being the difference in this series.

Bangladesh-Pakistan also off to an interesting start, Mushfiqur and Liton have put on 150 after the top order collapsed earlier.

rjd2

Yeah India not in a nice position really. The lower order somewhat lettin them down yet again.

With India resting so many, this is an incredible chance for NZ to win a series here.

Trying to claim things that happened only 3 or 4 years ago are from another era and 'we live in a different time now'

In the style of Michael Vaughan I'm afraid this is just Michael Vaughan looking after Michael Vaughan.

Just listened to him on Today, pretty much doing the 'whattt' face during everything he said. Fair play to the interviewer confronting him head on

Readers who hate cricket might be interested to know that freesports is showing the Abu Dhabi T10. God is this going to be the next thing? It has some big names playing.  Must have some money behind it.

shoulders

A 45 year old man claiming to have been completely different from 2017 when he was 41.

rjd2

That's a pretty poor effort from NZ in the 1st innings after the openers had a really good start.

I suspect anything over 200 would be near impossible for NZ to chase, but obviously need to get to that first.

Going to be interesting what happens Axar going forward, his numbers at home are insane at the moment.

Crenners

Wood talking about sticking one up em in the Ashes is typically stupid from the thick bowl faster cunt.
