Still haven't got a single answer on this yet, which is quite impressive.

I did unusually good on both opening rounds last night.  A couple I would have probably buzzed in early too - so have had more points than both teams combined. Not so well on Anagrams.

I found tbe second wall significantly easier than the first. Three of the categories popped out pretty much straight away.

We all got the

question, right?

Got that one after two clues. Was quite proud of myself although it was one of very few points I got last night. My history degree came in handy with a question in the first round.

(got nothing else, though - pure fluke!)

bgmnts

I meant the entire show mind.

Pie Pie Eater

I would have said the same as you, daf - not sure if it would have been given. I didn't get the

Blackadder

one as I was distracted by the talk of Harry Potter and thought I wouldn't know it. Although I guessed it might be things depicted on the front covers of books so maybe should have got there.

EOLAN

I think at worst daf would have got a nudge by the lovely Victoria to expand on his answer as he was very much in the right area.

I got it bang on, albeit on the second clue. I was rather chuffed with myself and had a good laugh at the contestants for getting it wrong (I was pretty much useless for the rest of the episode).

So what do people reckon, are the Puzzle Hunters going to ace it in the final? I say 'yes'!

cheesebot

Star Wars was only retroactively subtitled 'Episode 4: A New Hope,' so VC was probably wrong to prompt for the 'full' title of the 1977 film (not that points were at stake I guess).

A spoiler/cheat thread which gave access to answers before they were aired might have been fun. Oh to best my betters for just one day.

I couldn't possibly comment

I'd give you a few from the final but I'm genuinely struggling to remember what was in it. You can usually get an advanced look at one of the questions in the Radio Times preview, and one answer from watching the clip on the BBC website

Here we go.

Good luck!

(although I know you know what will happen)

Hooray! Nice one

I liked that it was between two teams that seemed to be made up of really nice people.

But you should have got Bob Champion.

I got the music one but apart from that not great. I still don't understand the maths sequence one.

Gurke and Hare

Brilliant, well done. That was a proper exciting match too, level after every round. Brilliant wall performances from both teams.

Utter Shit

Yaaaaaassssss congrats!

lankyguy95

Very nicely done. Congrats.

Paul aced that missing vowels round.

Congratulations, proper edge of the seat stuff.

Norton Canes

bgmnts

I put up with Coren just to watch this, very good stuff.

Norton Canes

Proper faces in hands moment here in the Canes household at "A to D", luckily it was all good after that.

P.S. Loving Katie Steckles' ZX Spectrum tribute knitwear.

I know, fucking hell. Dreaded watching that

Genuinely, I had it in my head to say but forgot the rules and was worried if I got it wrong we would lose a point. Such was the fug of tension

cheesebot

Very well done. Snug weapons crucial. I imagine both teams thought they'd pulled out a decent lead after two equally excellent wall rounds - where you disappointed to find they'd done as well as you?

Pie Pie Eater

Hah well we had talked about past wall performances with them in the green room and theirs on the whole had been much worse than ours (albeit we did get a 2 in the second round), so I did think we might be ahead. But in the end it was just funny and probably fitting that we had scored the same in every round

I figured that out - but maybe no in enough time and probably would have messed up with the wrong sequence of numbers. Used same methodology as Paul rather than Victoria's valid explanation.

The unseen sequence is
Spoiler alert
1, 23, 456, 78910 (10 being the final number in sequence). If you multiplied the two numbers shown together you would get the prior sequence.

Just watched this, well done! I had such a hatred of the opposition, especially the married couple, so it was doubly nice to see you beat them.

I follow a socialist economist called Christine Berry on twitter and last night she tweeted....

QuoteMassive congratulations to @OnlyConnectQuiz champions  [names removed]. And a massive fuck you to all the dickheads on Twitter who apparently *still* think it's their prerogative to tell my sister in law to smile more 🤨

Why? They seemed alright. It's not like it was Emma Kennedy and the Centrists.

It was pretty good watching the American woman's smile curdle when The Steckles instantly got that 5 pointer.
