The thing about his Substack income is I doubt he'd be doing or saying anything meaningfully different were he making half, or ten times, as much as he's claiming. He'd probably just sue more people. Even when he still had a house, family and the possibility of salvaging his career, he was still on Twitter shouting at strangers all day. (It's obviously shitty if he's making a living wage off hatred and abuse, and Substack can go fuck themselves regardless).

it's interesting how he's got into the "has fallen" pattern, because I've always seen that used as "London has fallen" in reference to Sadiq Khan and his army of brown-skinned knife-wielding grooming gangs

Also worth remembering that at the end of 2020, he was describing institutions / countries as "captured" and then following it up with "women fighting back" news, like they were inspiring wartime resistance fighters. Now everything's just "fallen". He was banking on 2021 peaking the world, and now he has to spin the failure and desperation into fearmongering.

Gary Glinner 2:  Judgement Day

In the future year 2022, Transnet awakened and destroyed humanity[nb]Not actually humanity, just Twitter[/nb].  All that is left are the Glinner Gang, fighting the ferocious Carbonara Wars led by their Leader and Savior, Captain Graham Bananacunt.

(sorry just wanted to get updates on the new thread).

Citation needed here I think!

If he genuinely has 1000 paid subscribers then that is £8,000 a month at the lowest amount to subscribe. Take off Substack's 10% and then the 20% VAT then he still gets over five and a half thousand for eating carbonara, being a bigot, not washing suspiciously stained pants, doxxing himself and calling people groomers.

Between Substack, royalties and other little things like Buy Me A Coffee; he must be getting upwards of 70k a year before tax.

Kind of regretting my career choice of not being a cunt who has gone bananas, now.

1k paying subscribers on Substack but 18 on Patreon? pull the other one, etc

Jesse and Suzanne on there with 1k+ paying and around 80 likes per post, Matty and Bari with 10k+ paying and 200 likes per post... Substack seems to have an engagement problem!

retsuza

I refuse to believe all 1000+ subscribers are actually paying him. He's begged like six different times within the past few months for subscribers and his posts get fuck all engagement in comparison. It's like a twitter account with an artificially large amount of followers but only a handful of people actually interacting with their tweets.

As someone mentioned, substack probably allows you to gift subs to promote your blog. It really takes a special kind of weird cunt [nb]e.g. 100 selfies a month guy[/nb] to unironically read the SGB and think hmm yeah makes a lot of sense, not unhinged at all.

Fuck me. FUCK ME

Fuck OFF.

Isn't there often a membership offer of £30 a year for an SGB sub?

But at least you have your soul.

I remember in the mid-2010s, the blog We Hunted the Mammoth sort of semi-focused on pick-up artist and legalised rape advocate Roosh V. WHTM kept tabs on his antics for a while, and it became clear that Roosh was slowly realising that he had so poisoned his own mind against women, inhaled so deeply on his own misogynistic farts, that he was never going to be able to have a real relationship with one. There's that clip of him in Contrapoints' Incels video, made in 2018, of him having to justify his interest in baking by describing cooking and baking as "science" and insisting that he's "not a woman". Cooking makes you less masculine in his mind, despite all those celebrity male chefs out there.

This is what happens when you try to grift for bigot-bucks. You either end up believing what you say, or you slowly grow to hate yourself. Sometimes both.

The fact that Glindr (Glindr!) isn't even pathetic enough to make that list is hilarious in itself.

If it did have an entry itd probably read as follows
-Created Glindr, his own twitter that nobody uses seriously featuring blackjack and hookers pointy dick porn.
-Promptly forgets Glindr even existed, just like everyone else.
-JK Rowling

That was me and you definitely can gift subscriptions, you can even do it from a csv file. Since he made his ss subscription only because of all the negative comments, I think that's almost certainly where those 1000 come from. He using it as a blog rather than a payment platform - that's why he has a Patreon as well.

Ferris

I'll bet very good money that he doesn't have close to 1,000 people paying him for anything. I'd be amazed if it was over 100.

When he leaked his own SGB subscriber list (remember that? Lol) there were about 100 names on there, and I think only about 60 were paying. He's gone further down the tubes since then.

Sonny_Jim

It would not surprise me in the slightest if Substack admin offered an option to 'boost' subscriber stats for 'special accounts', especially when they are starting off.  Substack want to give off the impression that they are a lively and busy service a la Twitter, when in reality it seems to be mostly far right wackos with <200 subscribers.

So much this. L Ron Hubbard was a terrible human being who made his name and fortune making shit up, but by the end of his life, he was spending hours sat alone in the dark auditing himself on an E-Meter. You can't replace your entire world with madness for years and hold on to your own sanity, it just can't be done.

No way Glinner has 1000 paid subs. He simply doesn't. I'd be surprised if he had 100.

I imagine if he did, he'd spend less time desperately trying to get the terfs to watch Count Arthur on Netflix.

On the Banana Blog front page* there's a subscribe button, and a box to enter an email address. It takes you through to a page with several options, annual, monthly, Banana Bunch, and free.

I'll bet most of his subscribers have gone for the free option.

* When I search for the Banana Blog I use a variety of terms. It won't change anything, but I like the idea that someone at Substack has to compile a list of search terms each month; libelous, hate, transphobic...

JamesTC

It specifically refers to 1k+ paying subscribers. He must have given out loads. I still think he'll have a few hundred actual paying subscribers at least.

And GBBO has plenty of men on it. Cooking is an important life skill anyway, gendering it is stupid.

This, and a combination of gifted subscriptions. I suppose it's possible he has over 1000 paying customers on Substack and almost zero engagement anywhere else, but it's very, very improbable.

Mister Six

Do the free gifted subscriptions automatically renew, also for free? Will people get an email inviting them to input their credit card details for uninterrupted bananaflow? Are we going to see a good chunk of that 1k number evaporate at the start of Linehan's second year (assuming he hasn't choked to death on bile or self-immolated or something)?

I've seen some suggestion at Roosh's conversion to a born-again Christian was partially motivated by the fact that he pissed away all his money travelling around the world to rape more women and torpedoed his reputation in the real world so badly that he had to move in with a very religious aunt, or be homeless. If that's true, I don't know if it's more or less funny than him just growing to hate himself and turning to religion for meaning.

I made a lovely tikka masala yesterday and have the other half of it to eat tonight. My willy did fall off whilst I was engaging in a such a feminine activity as mixing spices into yoghurt and then marinating chicken in it, but I do have a nice curry to eat.

Also I just saw this little nugget on the SGB:

Quote from: some cunt gone bananasIncredibly, despite this being stated just a week after Ofcom acknowledged that 'terf' is an offensive slur

It hyperlinks to an article in the Mail which mentions that Ofcom's survey asked about the word terf, but it doesn't say what the result was. So I looked it up.

Hardly the hate speech that they try and claim it is. Apparently it's judged to be as offensive as 'crap', 'arse', and 'bonk'. Scandalous. Although it is important to note that the term had low level of recognition, perhaps because unlike what BC and chums think, most people aren't secretly passionate terfs too afraid to speak out.

Chollis

Have to say this Paying Subscribers stuff is a bit of a blow. Had hoped that destitution, most likely brought on by losing legal battles, would be the next milestone for BC after the divorce.
