This is a free phone line (not sure if there are exceptions), coinciding with a John Giorno exhibition at Almine Rech that runs until November 13. There's a New York number too. It's nice to listen on the phone but I found out about it because NTS have put up five episodes with some or all of the old recordings: https://www.nts.live/shows/dial-a-poem

QuoteIn 1968, poet John Giorno set up a toll-free telephone number that a person could call to hear recordings of some of the great poets of his era.

The Giorno Foundation & Almine Rech Gallery present a week long series, airing some of the telephone numbers greatest calls, from David Byrne, Charles Bukowski, Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson & lots more.

More information about the thing and exhibition:

Giorno states the poet's name at the beginning and end. I called three times and got Elieen Myles, John Ashbery and Frank O'Hara.
