First time I ever heard The Velvet Underground and Nico, and Sunday Morning was unfolding its beauty before me, the "friend" responsible for the induction informed me we were listening to Buddy Holly, at which, I started enthusing about how much ahead of his time the guy was. Then I'm Waiting for the Man started and friend declared "Oh look, Buddy's turned into Lou Reed!"

I still think that had Holly lived, he might have been writing compositions like Sunday Morning, it's not really that much of a stretch and sounds influenced by him?
