Does anyone remember any memorable titles? The 200 or so B-movies you would recieve with a cheapo DVD player back in the early 00's.

Alas, twas a mere copy n paste job.

The first two dvd's I got with my Asda DVD player (can't remember if it was an official bundle or just me just getting an adjacent offer so I could play something on it) were The House on Haunted Hill and A Perfect Storm. Both pretty crap really.

A few months later Asda released a cheaper player that could also play mp3's on CDR's and had a way of disabling Macrovision copy protection, which was handy as I had a tv with no AV inputs so had to run it through a VCR to modulate it, so I returned it claiming it was bost and got 20 quid cashback which I spent on Fight Club.

The Anvil Master With Cracked Fingers doesn't sound like much of an Anvil Master

I think I bought RoboCop Dark Justice for about 2 quid back in the day thinking it was actual Robocop. I might still have it but I never bothered watching it. It's amazing how long the diminishing returns ran after Robocop 2 really.

Ipso Facto, it's the Krypton Factor (sponsored by Lipton)

I think Species The Whistle used to go around the pubs in Lambeth, selling knock off DVDs around 2004-ish.

I remember him!  Would loiter in the chemist in West Norwood, whistling and tasting of cola.

They would often be movies that either starred or had parts played by quite big movie stars that were made JUST before they broke out into superstardom. They would plaster that all over the covers and sell them in bundles.

I never saw it but there was one with George Clooney that every charity shop or 4 pack DVD would have.

and Anal Acrobats 6.  They were a double pack and if you got one without the other it's because someone had stolen from the box.  It's usually Anal Acrobats 6 that went missing.

It's a shame that Bruce Willis didn't have his decline a couple of decades earlier, when you think about it.

My father had a Laser Disc of "Asian beauties" or something of that soft pornography ilk, and I assume that was something provided as a sample to one of the technical documentation companies he worked for. (We didn't have a player.) I imagine my mother disposed of it at some point.

An insight into the casual racism and sexism of the Britain of the past (passim), when you could have five pints for lunch and sleep of an afternoon and still show an annual increase in "productivity". Days are gone.

Titanic (animated) Robocop is presumably an early foray into this multiverse thing the kids are all into these days.

Admitting that the Titanic is animated is more truthful than the so-named "live action" remakes of Disney cartoons coming out now.

This reminds me of those bootleg Gameboy cartridges that promised '100 games included!' and had pictures of Mario on the artwork to give you false hope. Then you played it and it was mostly 2nd rate stuff like this with names you don't recognised and that got boring after 2 minutes.

I mean, it leads with fuckin Lawnmower Man.

It would be an AMAZING collection if it was films of a similar ilk and ended with something like Futurekick or Death Machine though.

Could easily be The Lawnmower and Man Kickboxer.

Glebe

Remember getting a Blu-ray player from the local video shop (remember them?), think it came with The Dark Knight and Star Trek among others.

That's better than the array of films on Netflix.

He did three trashy movies around this time - "Combat Academy", "Return Of The Killer Tomatoes" and "Return To Horror High". The last two are pretty decent.

Filmed in and around the university one of my old workmates was at, at the same time he was there. He did say that he occasionally looked for himself in the crowd scenes. Also, it has one of the all-time great "song based on the plot of the movie" things:
