The Mollusk

Bet you thought "great, finally gonna get to hear the mollusk's take on merseybeat!" but NO

This morning lying in bed and nursing a mild hangover I was checking out some Japanese hardcore and I came across the genre "burning spirits" which, to give a type of music a name like that, is the most Japanese thing ever. Burning spirits music is a sort of hardcore/d-beat sound but with big metal influences, very emotive chord progressions and wailing triumphant solos. It's fucking great, obviously.

This 22-minute album by Think Again is absolutely searing. I don't listen to a lot of hardcore because it's pretty samey and as a result is quite boring to me, but this is just fucking wild. The vocals in particular could tear a barn to bits like a hurricane.

That's it, can't be arsed to write anything else at the moment.
