I wonder if this fella ever got a cease and desist from the Sullivans
I like how he tries to let Les down gently... "It is Albert...or is it Grandad...?"

"That was me doing Rodney!"

Shaky

It's always a shame to seen an iconic character reduced to a broad series of ticks and catchphrases. Mind you, the show did that before anyone else.

Ironically, Les Dennis will be taking on the role of Grandad in the Only Fools and Horses musical from October.

Quote...Alison noted there are 20 years of content to pull from so the decision to pinpoint specific moments for the show "must have been difficult." Paul said: "It was a collaborative process really and we whittled it down and down but kept those big gags and references in but we had to add the actual music and dances where people think "why are they dancing, knock him spark out."

Les said: "People come round to it pretty quick and it doesn't feel unnatural at all really. I'm so excited, like everyone else, I would tune in weekly to watch the exploits of the Trotters and would laugh and cry in equal measure. It was both funny and touching.

He added: "Jim [Sullivan] and Paul have written a wonderful show that beautifully recreates that feel-good era of British comedy. I can't wait to join the hugely talented cast and be a part of it."

Discussing some of their favourite moments, everyone agreed the chandelier scene was a stand-out, but Les said "there are so many to choose from" which is one of the reasons he was so thrilled to be a part of the show. He added the comedy has been able to transcend generations and still holds up incredibly well to this day.

Seeing as Whitehouse played Grandad as Unlucky Alf with a cockney accent, I'm hoping Dennis plays Grandad as Mavis Riley with a cockney accent.

I love the way there's complete radio silence from the audience, when Les Dennis asks them, "who do you think he looks like?"

But then he puts on a hat, does a terrible cockney accent and they are all in hysterics.

Love how one of the two reviews is just from a random person.

The guy playing Ade looks marginally more like Rik. If they swapped it probably wouldn't be any worse.

Bit of the younger Andrew Lloyd Webber in there, as well.

I didn't expect Gervais to go in this direction to be honest.

Darn, should have known it was too good to be true. I do like the selection of alternate AI Richies though.

I spent altogether more time than I should have doing it, and then printed out an earlier draft and uploaded that in error. Still, the bits that weren't corrected add to it being A Bit Crap, so that's fine.

yeah it's very good. i did think it was real initially

"Bottom is hilarious [but I really regret going to the abomination that is] the Live Dining Experience [version of it. It was terrible, my dinner was substandard and the constant interruptions from amateur comedians was unbearable. Their act surely serves as one of the worst ever examples of] comedy. [Avoid this at all costs. It's relatively cheap at £30 but somehow manages to still be a complete rip off. Next time you're in Dudley give Bottom The Live Dining Experience a miss and avail of one of their McDonald's for some comparatively] great food"
