Yeah parents or guardians was a thing at my school out in the arse end of nowhere Scotland growing up in the 90s, and the school was so arse backwards that the head teacher tried to force my left-handed sister to be right-handed, that did not last long after my parents found out

pigamus

Iused to be fascinated by 'parent or guardian', I thought guardian sounded well cool, whatever it was

king_tubby

I went to a state grammar in Lincolnshire in the 80s and it was always parent/guardian.

What is this bullshit?

pigamus

I remember it on the little coupons you got in comics, to give to the newsagent

jobotic

It's been parent/guardian everywhere for all time.

Glinner looks for teenage girls to tell them they look like they're in porn. Why would anyone have sympathy for him?

Remember when that teaching assistant killed herself as a result of Richard Littlejohn's transphobic bullying? That will be the result of Linehan's actions one day if he carries on like this. Fuck him, he's just a Littlejohn, nothing more.

phes

That whole article is waste matter. Who actually gets irritated by the totally sensible change from suffering from cancer to living with cancer. If it's necessary to refer to someone having cancer then just let them decide for themselves if they're suffering. Someone with a shitty dumbfuck agenda or cunty hack job, that's who

Alberon

He sees himself as a martyr. Immolating himself to save fragile real woman from the evil trans perverts.

I do think he genuinely believes when he wins he'll be heralded as a hero (and get his twitter back).

Which does make he wonder what will happen when that doesn't happen.

petril

I thought it was just parent/guardian in Ireland and everywhere else had parent/police

Monkeys are good though. I mean, even if they're vicious little beasts that throw their shit and try to bite people, they're still nicer than TERFs.

Also: I can also confirm that schools in rural-ish Cornwall were putting "parent or guardian" on letters home thirty+ years ago, and it was explained to me that that meant my stepdad was also responsible for me despite not being a blood relative.

That's the thing it'll forever be about to change and just one more post and everyone will come round and recognise him as the hero he "knows" he is, they're always about to welcome him back and spontaneously start applauding as long as he just keeps on posting, just one more...

buttgammon

"We do not suffer anything like the same level of vitriol" - you don't, because you're the one who has spent years dishing it out.

idunnosomename

lmao his MP is actually a good lad and are graham's angry at him, because he's a transphobic cunt

rosie duffield is a chancer and a simpleton who's sold loads of student activists who campaigned for her up shit creek

J.K. Rowling.

bigfatheart

The 'parents/guardians' thing is the TERF equivalent of racist cunts thinking that schools got rid of blackboards because of political correctness, rather than whiteboards being easier to maintain, isn't it? Just so unbelievably, blindingly, obviously bollocks, and yet he's so desperate for anything to feed his hatred he'll grasp onto anything. Quickly, tell him most schools say 'principal' instead of 'headmaster' today because they're all in the pocket of Big Trans[nb]Good show, that, at least for the first series.[/nb]! It's not like he'll fact check or give it even a moment's scrutiny!

It can't help his cause that his manner screams cunt. He's a writer. Why is he so appalling at judging how to write.

JamesTC

He is so smart that his brain moves at such a speed that human modes of communication are alien to him.

"Parents and guardians" has been a thing for 40+ years because it tactfully takes into account people living with step parents or single parents following divorces or whatever, living with other family members, kids in foster homes, and anyone else who lives in a non-traditional household.

Is this really worthy of criticism? Christ.

Parents and guardians is ball achingly non controversial and only a mentally ill person could possibly have an issue with it.

And the sad thing is, the kids accepted Lucy Meadows. They liked her. Her being trans was not an issue for them. It was the parents who had a problem with her.

I wish Linehan was obsessed with monkeys and not trans people.

Interesting to read the overwhelming support in the replies here especially considering who is sharing it.

It's a shame there wasn't more of this during Glin's terrible 3-year Twitter hate campaign.

he's judged it well: this isn't a letter to Clive Lewis, it's a letter to supporters whose brains warped by social media discourse and "dunking" on people. He saw himself screenshotting it and posting it before he wrote the letter.
