I'm in St Anne's on Sea at the moment, staying with relatives, one of whom does voluntary beach cleaning. The beach has a line of waste - sanitary towels, bags of dog shit, all kinds of plastic - because one of those pesky EU laws insisted that beaches be kept clean instead of covered in sewage, and now we're out of the EU, well, who cares if local families and holidaymakers can't use the beaches because they're too dirty? Brexit in action right there. I doubt Truss would ever go onto the beach at Fylde though, it's probably too common for her.
